Do you have an accent?

I never thought i had one but when i went to florida practically everyone i talked to said "So you're from up north huh?" Evidently i have a heavy new england accent but i never thought i takled with one..o well? So what accents do you have?

I used to have a southern accent though! I lived in Virginia for 9 years when i was little and when i moved here everyone made fun of me! There are a few things that i still say the way i learned to in VA, and people here still make fun of me.

Im not sure if I do...But when i was younger, me and my sis totally had new york accents..and we have never even been there.

I sort of have New York accent (The only people who talk with a Jersey accent- with all the oi's and stuff are people from Texas and the Bronx or some place in NY... it's weird) so I say walk, talk, coffee, dog, orange, etc. like there's and aw in it (it's not that heavy though )

Actually, everyone in the world has an accent, except for the people in Nebraska

I like talking in British, Irish, and Australian accents

WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THIS A FEW DAYS BEFOR SCHOOL GOT OUT BECAUSE SOME OF MY FRIENDS WENT TO NORTH CAROLINA FOR A BASEBALL GAME AND THEY SAID PEOPLE THERE NEW BY THEIR VOICE THAT THEY WERE FROM THE NORTH BUT WERE LIKE WE DONT HAVE A ACCENT

People tell me that we have accents but im sure we dont. The people that tell me this speak, i dont know what u would call it,Proper English. We speak English around here kinda slangish. My sister gets made at me sometimes cause ill be reading something but prouncing it with the Italiansoundings. oopps.
What am i gonna do in school when i have to read aloud??

My friend from Tennesse says I have a very strong northern accent and my friends from here say I have a strong midwestern twang (not an accent but a hint of one).
So yeah..I do.

I've got a major New York accent, I live in the city and when I get mad, it comes out really bad...But when I'm on vaca. I adapted to wherever I am. When I went to England, I developed and English accent, when I got to Florida I get a southern one...go figure!

well, i've become aware of accents becuz you have americans here from all over the states (and of course lots of brits, south africans and ausies). my mom has a detroit accent, my dad a D.C. accent and my best friend used to have a pretty strong new york accent until she met me....hehehe her parents say ive ruined her lol. one time i was in detroit with my family and i got together with friends of mine and they said i lost my american accent. i was very upset, but i knew it wasnt true (ok, i was little when this happened, thats why i took this VERY seriously ). so i asked my mom "mommy, did i lose my american accent?" and it turns out i lost my detroit accent bcuz of my friends (from new york, jersey, LA, boston, new york, LA, new york,LA.....lol) and now i sound like im from minasota (wut does that mean?! ). but when im in the states ppl ask me if im from there, so i guess its true.
BTW, ppl from ohio have accents. its kindda like a detroit accent.
also - ive noticed that guys from LA sound like theyre gay....has anyone noticed this?

I think I've got a very strong English accent, it's so hard to tell, because everyone I know speaks the same as me

I don't speak with an accent, but every now and then i slip a few southern words like cuting out the 'ing' and adding 'in'.

I have a New York accent. But I guess its hard to tell cuz everyone aroudn me speaks the same. When I went to WDW I was like everyone has such different accents. But then my dads like they are probably saying you have a different accent.

LOL i dont think i have an accent, but i have been told that i talk different from everyone else! OH WELL!! thats what you get when your parents are from iowa and illinois and i grow up in CA i guess??

Being so close to mexico i use some spanish when i talk... like when im mad ill cuss in spanish so my parents dont know what im saying!! or i'll say calmate guey (pernounces way), which is like calm down.
