You know that place you go to get away from the crowds….the madness..

Here are mine..(and please DON’T go anywhere near them..or ELSE!)

MK: Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café…all the way in the back by the bathrooms.(far far away from Ray)

EPCOT: Electric Umbrella Restaurant ..those always empty tables all the way in the back.

WSC: the Liberty Inn next to the American Pavilion…God Bless America (for a place to rest)

MGM: the ABC commissary nice places to hide…and catch the fall ABC previews.

AK: Tusker House Restaurant and Bakery outside.. yes “in the back”…there are cool crashing noises coming out of a back building. It is supposed to be from a rhino on the lose in the kitchen.

We don’t really eat in the above places we just USE them for “safe houses” (ok so I might spring for a small soda with 4 straws ...after all they are letting me use their space)

Next weeks Disney Question: what are the best attractions to take a quick nap in?

the benches by the canada boat launch in epcot.

mk rose garden (the spot where i proposed)

any spot at POR

Columbia harbour House - upstairs

Fairytale Garden - when Belle's NOT reading a story!

The seating area on WS lagoon across from Canada - especially nice when Off Kilter is playing in the background.

Discovery Island trails across from Island Mercantile - I swear they had kangaroos (or wallabees!) back there!

The balcony of any boardwalk view room - love to watch the world 'come alive' early in the morning! (If only we could keep our 'real' boardwalk that clean !):smooth:

MK: Town Square Exposition Hall- classic cartoon, comfortable seats, and maybe a character or two

EPCOT: Impressions de France- beautiful movie, beautiful theater, peaceful and relaxing

MGM: Beauty and the Beast- the show is my favorite plus plenty of time to relax to watch 4 for a Dolar

AK: Any of the animal trails- very pleasant and soothing to watch the animals

MK: Plaza Restaurant, Pirates, Hall of Presidents
Epcot: Fountainview, World Showcase, Ice Station Cool
MGM: Backlot Express, NY Street, Brown Derby
AK: Flame Tree BBQ in the back near the water

TTA in MK

Figment in Epcot

The "back of the park" in the Studios

In MK across from the Hall of Presidents behind the Christmas Shoppe there is a nice little semi-hidden circular patio-type area with benches that no one ever seems use.

I agree pearljim...never had a problem sitting there! I have been known to pack a few peanuts and feed the squirrels. We also like the TTA and believe it or not we ride the monorail for a break. Still people around, but relaxing all the same. The ferryboat ride is also nice...I love the view of HM from there.

My power-nap rides...

MK......Tomorrowland Transit Authority Or the Train

Epcot......Spaceship Earth

MGM.....The Great Movie Ride

Animal Kingdom.... The train that takes you to the place where they keep the Animals.

Epcot - garden at UK

MK - walking path from tomorrowland to mickey toon town

Spaceship Earth!

I love going on that ride when I'm hot and tired. There's something about the music combined with Jeremy Irons voice that is so relaxing. In fact, once we were on it and got stopped for about five minutes. We had just boarded and were at the top of the first incline where the narration starts and there are projections of foggy red and orange lights (for lack of a better description; I'm sure you know where I'm talking about). It was so nice and dark, the music was so soothing, and my DH and I were so tired that day, we both fell asleep! We awoke when the ride started back up, and saw my parents and DD in the car in front of us looking back and laughing!

It is my favorite place to take a break, and I never mind getting stopped for a while. I just wish once we could get stopped at the top so I could spend more time "in space" looking back at the earth. Talk about peaceful! That's my favorite part of the ride, and is over far too quickly!

Just about anywhere in the world showcase in Epcot! If you walk back "in" the countries there are so many good places. I think a lot of people just walk the loop and never take the time to explore each country. I LOVE Epcot!!!

MK-the smoking area beside tomorrowland speedway; i can watch my kids 'blast off' (15 yr old takes 5 yr old) and enjoy some 'me' time; love that spiel!

EPCOT-anywhere near the dancing fountain in future world; just makes me feel like i'm the only one there!

MGM-the smoking area near sci-fi diner and the writer's place; i love listening to the themes from old tv shows.

AK-haven't found my spot yet, i must return several times to pick it out!

pearljim and others, just to warn you. The area behind the Christmas shop was being used last month for greeting snow white and other characters. But behind the bakery shop next to Hall of presidents is another little covered area that is usually pretty quiet and even has a rocking chair.

Yep, I sure do have a "safe house". It's Ft. Wilderness! When you step back to the campground, the madness just disappears! It's my little slice of heaven.

I couldn't agree more! We did the same thing on our last trip. It is very relaxing and cool. My friend fell asleep as well on it. I find I get especially sleepy towards the end of the ride when it tilts back. Nap time :D
