Do you have a warmed cider recipe?

Fall is here, and I have a gallon of cider in the fridge.

Does anyone have any mulled cider recipes. (I don't even know what "mulled" means. )

I'm looking for a recipe that is kid friendly as well as one for the grown ups--if ya know what I mean. nudge nudge wink wink.

Mulled cider simply means you have simmered it with spices. Usually, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, nutmeg, ginger. Also, some brown sugar. You can find a bazillion recipes here:

or make up your own. Make sure to strain out the spices through cheesecloth before serving (or better yet, tie them in cheesecloth and simmer. Then you can just take out the cheesecloth and toss).

Oh and if you want something for "grownups" try adding some Captain Morgan's spiced rum. Or, instead of simmering the spices with cider, try a good red wine.

My families is very simple. About 3 parts of apple cider to 1 part cranberry juice, or 3-4 cups apple cider and 1 cup cranberry juice (depends on how many cups you need) and one cinnamon stick, and a couple of cloves. Bring this to a simmer in a pot and your done. It is delicious!
