Do you have a theme song?

Mark Wills "1980-Somethin"

I saw Star Wars at least eight times,
Had the Pacman pattern memorized
And I've seen the stuff they put inside Stretch Armstrong

Well I was Roger Stauback in my backyard,
Had a shoebox full of baseball cards,
And a couple of Evil Knievil scars on my right arm

Well I was a kid when Elvis died,
And my mama cried.

It was 1970 somethin', in the world that I grew up in.
Farrah Fawcett hair-do days, bellbottoms and 8-track tapes.
Looking back now, I can see me.
Oh man, did I look cheesy.
I wouldn't trade those days for nothin',
Oh it was 1970 somethin'.

It was the dawning of a new decade,
When we got our first microwave.
Dad broke down and finally shaved them old sideburns off.

I took the stickers off my Rubik's cube,
Watched MTV all afternoon.
My first love was Daisy Duke in them cutoff jeans.

Space shuttle fell out of the sky,
And the whole world cried.

It was 1980 somethin', in the world that I grew up in.
Skating rinks and black Trans-Ams, big hair and parachute pants.
And looking back now, I can see me.
And oh man, did I look cheesy.
I wouldn't trade those days for nothin',
Oh it was 1980 somethin'.

Now I've got a mortgage and an SUV
But all this responsibility
Makes me wish sometimes -
It was 1980 something, in the world that I grew up in.
Skating rinks and black Trans-Ams, big hair and parachute pants.
And looking back now, I can see me.
Oh man, did I look cheesy.
I wouldn't trade those days for nothin',
Oh it was 1980 somethin'.

"Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw.

It's my personal anthem because for 9 years and 11 months I suffered a potentially fatal heart condition that prevented me from doing a lot of things. After my 4th (and finally successful) heart surgery in January 2005, I resolved to make the most of every day.

"Dancing in the Dark" by Bruce Springsteen

This verse has pretty much described how I feel at times, having worked the night shift for 14+ years:

I get up in the evening
and I ain't got nothing to say
I come home in the morning
I go to bed feeling the same way
I ain't nothing but tired
Man I'm just tired and bored with myself

And this verse describes how I have felt at different times in my life:

Message keeps getting clearer
radio's on and I'm moving 'round the place
I check my look in the mirror
I wanna change my clothes, my hair, my face
Man I ain't getting nowhere
I'm just living in a dump like this
There's something happening somewhere
baby I just know that there is

I know it sounds depressing, but its not, really. The lyrics just capture that "Eh" feeling everyone gets when things just seem "Eh", so well. I literally belt this song out on the top of my lungs when it comes on, and the kids cover their ears.

Depends on my age:

When I was in elementary school it was "Windy"

When I was in my 20s it was "Maneater"

Now it's "If I Could". :cloud9:

If I could
I’d protect you from the sadness in your eyes
Give you courage in a world of compromise
Yes, I would

If I could
I would teach you all the things I’ve never learned
And I’d help you cross the bridges that I’ve burned
Yes, I would

If I could
I would try to shield your innocence from time
But the part of life I gave you isn’t mine
I’ll watch you grow, so I can let you go

If I could
I would help you make it through the hungry years
But I know that I can never cry your tears, babe
But I would If I could

If I could
In a time and place where you don’t wanna be
You don’t have to walk along this road with me
My yesterday won’t have to be your way

If I knew
I’d try to change the world I brought you to
Now there isn’t much more that I can do
But I would If I could

If I could
I would try to shield your innocence from time
But the part of life I gave you isn’t mine
I’ll watch you grow, so I can let you go

If I could
I’d help you make it through the hungry years
But I know that I can never cry your tears
But I would If I could

Aerosmith's Dream On has always been my theme song.

Every time that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by, like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got their dues in life to pay

Yeah, I know nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know it's everybody's sin
You got to lose to know how to win

Half my life
Is in books' written pages
Lived and learned from fools and
From sages
You know it's true
All the things come back to you

Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laugh, sing for the tears
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good lord will take you away, yeah

Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laugh, sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away

Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until the dream come true
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dream comes true
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On

Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laugh, sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laugh, sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away...

Mine is "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson. The lyrics just fit me to a tee.

We actually did this as a project in English our senior year and it was one of my favorites

My husband jokes with my kids that he is going to make the ringtone for when I call the song from The Wizard of Oz...the wicked witch music;)So would this be considered my theme song?

Faith of the Heart (Theme from Enterprise) by Russell Watson written by Diane Warren

It's been a long road
Getting from there to here
It's been a long time
But my time is finally near

And I can feel the change in the wind right now
Nothing's in my way
And they're not gonna hold me down no more
No they're not gonna hold me down

'Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe
I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith, I’ve got faith, faith of the heart

It's been a long night
Trying to find my way
Been through the darkness
Now I've finally had my day

And I will see my dream come alive at last
I will touch the sky
And they're not gonna hold me down no more
No they're not gonna change my mind

'Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe
I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith, I’ve got faith, faith of the heart

I know that we're so cold
We've seen the darkest days
But now the winds I feel
Are only winds of change
I've been through the fire
I've been through the rain
But I'll be flying, oh yeah

'Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe
I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith, I’ve got faith, faith of the heart

It's been a long road

"I Need A Vacation" by Rebecca Lynn Howard. Describes my life perfectly lol!

Small Town John Mellencamp...

Well I was born in a small town
And I live in a small town
Prob'ly die in a small town
Oh, those small communities

All my friends are so small town
My parents live in the same small town
My job is so small town
Provides little opportunity

Educated in a small town
Taught to fear Jesus in a small town
Used to daydream in that small town
Another born romantic that's me

But I've seen it all in a small town
Had myself a ball in a small town
Married an L.A. doll and brought her to this small town
Now she's small town just like me

No I cannot forget where it is that I come from
I cannot forget the people who love me
Yeah, I can be myself here in this small town
And people let me be just what I want to be

Got nothing against a big town
Still hayseed enough to say
Look who's in the big town
But my bed is in a small town
Oh, and that's good enough for me

Well I was born in a small town
And I can breathe in a small town
Gonna die in this small town
And that's prob'ly where they'll bury me

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I think we share the same song!!!! I had that as my ringtone for years on my old cellphone and everytime we go to Epcot I have to do the Segway demo so I can sing this to my daughter.

:lmao:

I'm dying to do the segway tour, but haven't yet!
