Do you have a swimming pool?

Living in florida, it is almost mandatory to have a pool. We have had one since we moved here 6 years ago, and being covered by a "cage", also mandatory in florida, it stays pretty much free of debris. Since we can use it 8 months out of the year, we actually don't use it as much any more. It also takes a lot of chemicals to keep the water in "balance". I wouldn't give it up, though. :smooth:

We have one in our development ..my sons and wife go every day in the summer. My wife is off all summer she is a teacher. (lucky stiff)

nope we don't have one but we have 2 neighborhood pools(one which is a water park and considered one of the largest in the South) so if we have a desire to swim, we can go to the pool.(on www.siennaplantation.com they have pictures of it somewhere...lol) My brother got a waterslide for his birthday so he has been mighty happy with that lately :p

We are on our third in-ground pool - all of them have been concrete. Here in Florida we have the smallest pool we have ever had. Due to water restrictions in Florida I think and the high water table. It is screened but not very deep. The one we had in Illinois had a water slide and the one in California had a spa attached. I wouldn't give it up for anything and the maintenance is not hard at all. it was wonderful when the kids were teenagers. I always knew where they were (our house) and what they were doing. We had a hangout for their friends and the kids were always cooperative about our rules - no glass in the pool area and no noise after 10:00. We actually bought a soft drink machine from Sears that used concentrate for soft drinks - coke, orange and something else. It saved a lot of $. Recommend it highly.

I've never had to have one. My MIL put in a large inground pool over 30 years ago. She lived right down the street. Growing up we spent every day there along with all my childrens friends.

A few years after my FIL passed away she ended up selling the house in the town where we live and keeping the Florida home.

This past February, call it destiny. After 5 years and a complete remodling of the home, the new owners put it on the market. One of my DD purchased the home back. Now the family home that they built themselves is back in the family.

Fast forward thirty years the Grandchildren are there swimming everyday with all their friends.

YES! We just bought a house at the end of May that has an inground concrete diving pool - 12 ft at the deep end. It made me a little nervous at first, but we're lovin' it and in it everyday that the weather cooperates. We want to buy a solar cover (dreaming of a pool heater though) as it's still only 62 degrees as of yesterday! :earseek: I highly recommend it if you can afford it, it was much easier buying the house w/ the pool already in! BTW-I made my kids take swim lessons this year too. :teeth:

We put our pool in last summer but I have always lived near my sister who has had a pool forever, so my kids have been raised as pool kids. I am so happy with the pool and the idea that I can be in it whenever I want to. My daughter says I have "floating disease". I get up in the morning, clean up whatever I need to, get my errands done and by 12 or 1, I am floating with a book for the afternoon. It's the best!!! MY husband, who never was much of a pool person, comes home from work and takes a swim about 3 days a week. He says it's great. My oldest daughter is more of a beach girl and my middle daughter comes in when her friends are here. THe little guy loves it but I can honestly say, the pool is my baby. I am so happy with it!

We have one and love it! Our house came with a round above ground that we just replaced last year with a newer much prettier model. This one is also above ground but oval. My husband is extremely handy so he put the pool up himself and built a beautiful cedar deck for it. He also did some great landscaping around it. It is the prettiest above ground I've ever seen. I only like to swim when the weather is hot, in the 90's. We haven't had that many of those days so far so I haven't been in it too much yet. The kids will swim in any weather. It was a great investment. When the kids are older we plan on getting an inground pool. For now, this pool is great.

no..I'd probaly be living in it too...

Yes, I have an 18' EZ Set pool, but with all the rain we've had, we haven't even put it up this year. :o

DH wants to get an above ground pool next summer. :)

Yes, we have one too!!! I grew up with a pool, so when DH and I went looking for our first house, of course the one we bought is the one with the pool!! Since I grew up with one, and he grew up in Lincoln,NE, and never had one, he's much more into it than I am. He's the one that takes care of it....I haven't been in yet this summer, even though the water temp. stays at about 90 degrees! It feels like bathwater!! DD loves it, as does our golden retriever, who gets in to cool off and lays on the top step, lol!
