DH is 6'4" and has been shopping in the large tall section at Penney's for years. He is not large, he's thin. Their styles are a bit lumberjackish.

Looking for some nice stylish sweaters that are tall but not large. Where do you shop for your tall man?

I feel your pain. My husband is 6'4" and 180lbs. Most of his sweaters are J.Crew tall. You can only buy them online (not in stores.)

I have had some good luck with Banana Republic for my DH. He is 6'4 and all torso (no joke our leg length is almost the same and I am 5'7"). We have found a couple nice sweaters and button downs there for him. Sign up for the emails since they mail out coupons all the time!

My husband isn't quite 6'4. He is 6'2 and thinner. I buy a lot of his sweaters and some of his jeans from the tall section of Old Navy. We go into the store and try on every day pair of jeans until he finds the fits he likes and then I normally have to buy online for the length. He also really likes sweaters from Old Navy because the sleeves are longer but the waist is kind of nipped in like a woman's. (He would totally kick my butt if he knew I was saying his sweater is like a womans)

We have had really good luck with jeans at Levi outlet as well but again it takes forever because he is so picky about the fit.

For dressy occasions we picked up couple suits and sports coats at Men's Warehouse.

DS18 is also 6'4. He has recently gained weight and needs an xl...

Anyeway....Eddie Bauer online has talls, starting at size medium. Just got DS a coat from there, size xl Tall...the slevves were perfect! Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy all have talls now, starting at size medium. We have been happy with those! Oh, online, not in stores, which is a bummer, but at least its available!

Jos. A Bank generally does the trick for DH.

We sometimes get lucky at Old Navy. Although surprisingly enough, his favorite pair of jeans currently comes from Costco I believe

My DH and 2 DSs are all around 6ft4, but only DS #2 cares about clothes. He seems to do well with Ralph Lauren brand clothes and clothes from Express. He is very long, his arm span is huge, but the sleeves all seem to fit him.

Yep. Old Navy for my DH too. He's 6'2 and on the thin side.

Surprisingly he also has a lot of luck at places like Marshall's for sweaters. :confused3

Dh is all torso and arm length. So are two ds's. DS 18 is 6'2", ds14 is 6'1" and still growing. All three have unbelievably long arms. I call them cro-magnon men. Arms so long their knuckles practically drag on the ground.

My DS18 is 6' but very thin, with a long torso and freakishly long arms. I have been buying him size Medium Tall online from American Eagle. It is nearly impossible to find medium tall in stores. Otherwise, I buy him larges, which are too big around but he needs them for the length. Finding jeans and pants in stores is a challenge too- he is a 31x34. I do a lot of shopping on line for him.

No my husband is short lol but I do work at banana republic and we have a great selection of clothes we sell online. Sometimes you may be lucky to find sizes that have been returned in the store.

Hmm, don't know if I term DH "stylish" but DH is 6'8" and wears a 2XLT. We have also had good luck finding some nice stuff at Marshall's. Very hit or miss. We have lucked into a few things at Kohl's Big & Tall. He has a particular style of Levi's that he likes & I usually just search around online for his size & style and hope for the best.

Sadly, there isn't really one store that's a go to. It's more that we happen upon things that will work and pick them up when we can. Luckily, his office is business casual every day.

Disclaimer: mine isn't tall, but does require a few things tall for the 'tuckability' factor. I have had some luck at Land's End and Kohl's.

Penneys owns a company called The Foundary. They have all big and tall styles. Kind of nice stuff. Even nike and Adidas.

My husband is very tall with a toned, slender athletic build. He is very stylish, too. He loves English Laundry for work shirts and Canterbury of New Zealand for casual clothes. Both can be ordered online or found at Nordstrom. He also finds great deals on both brands at Nordstrom Rack. Merry shopping!

A little off topic, but maybe someone here can help. DS isn't tall, only 5'9", but only weighs about 100 pounds. Any suggestions on how to get clothes that would fit him? A boy's pant size 18 slim fits around the waist, but it's (way) too short. And if we go to men's sizes the smallest we've found are too big around (I'm talking about a 5-6 inch gap).

My husband is 6'5" and wears a size Large Tall. His pant size is 36/36 (or 35/36 when he's actively working out) just to give you an idea of his build.

I shop for him at Banana Republic (love their wool dress slacks), Nordstrom, and Eddie Bauer. Eddie Bauer has a few nice modern sweaters but you really have to always be on the lookout. I'm not a fan of the "look" of most Eddie Bauer, Lands End, LL Bean, etc stuff. Nordstrom doesn't have much in the way of sweaters but we do buy their dress shirts exclusively. I can't buy his dress shirts at Banana Republic because they are just sized by "Large Tall" and they aren't long enough. He wears a 16/37 dress shirt.

JCPenney is terrible for tall sizes unless they are also big. And, yes, their stuff isn't trendy or modern. The quality isn't there either.

I haven't tried JCrew tall...going to take a look now!

You may need to start either buying custom clothing or buy men's sizes and have a tailor take in the waist (if it's possible to take that much in).

What size does your son wear in men's? Have you tried a 29 men's in slim cut?

I don't work for Old Navy or get any commission but they have slim cut size jeans.
