Do you have a privacy fence in your backyard?

I don't have the money to afford a fence around the whole yard but am thinking about just putting up one fence on each side of the house on both sides for now.

Does anyone know what the best wood to use is?

This will be long.....We had a partially finished brick walkway in front of the house. This summer, DH finished the rest of the walkway with brick. We decided we liked it so much that we are going to level out a small patio around the back of the house with brick. Then, put some privacy panels around that. It's going to be interesting installing the panels 'cause the wind can blow so bad here in the winter. We will have to dig holes deep enough to put some cement in to hold the support posts. THEN....we decided to pull some bushes out of a small area right up against the front of the house and put some brick and panels in there, too. The front of the house faces west and the sun is terrible on that side of the house in the summer! The panels will give us some shade and we can sit out in the front and be shaded, if we want to. We don't have enough trees on the property and they take so long to grow big enough for substantial shade so this will be a good alternative! Aren't you glad you asked?

we have put the privacy fence along our drive way--when we first moved in we were eating dinner and the neighbor lady was looking in our window and yelled out can you see me?????? yeah we can............next week ..........privacy fence and she came right out and said oh i hope you don't put it in your back yard , ive always liked looking into the yard back there!!!! well the back yard, slopes and we have a double lot on the corner, which according to the village we live in we can not put a privacy close to the road so we put in the cedar split rail fence which has worked wonderfully for keeping the neighbor kids out..........we are thinking about privacy along the garage between our yard and hers and leaving the other fence there................... we don't have any trees in the back yard and cilco has came and cut 1 down on the side of this house this winter! like the last poster aren't ya glad you asked!!!!
