Our dress code policy for the nursing staff was recently updated. We can only wear ALL white shoes...mine are pink!
And we can't wear red or black...can someone explain that to me?
It just makes me want to wear my red t-shirt with my black scrub pants and my pink clogs tomorrow!
But...it didn't say we had to wear underwear! LOL! :o

Yes, I have to be dressed.

Ours was recently drastically relaxed . Previously, we could wear only ceil blue or white or one certain pattern top (with hearts--they thought that was cute since we are a telemetry floor  ).
Now, we can wear any color uniform and any pattern (Yay! Finally, the Disney prints!).

Shoes still have to be white...and no clogs (altho, I do see people wearing them, so, it's not really being enforced.)

Interestingly enough, even tho the dress code was changed to allow all colors of uniforms, the underwear issue is still addressed-it's supposed to be white. Like they could really tell now

EROS!! How did you get my pic???

Navy Blue Pants

Navy blue embroidered shirt (provided)

Black belt/shoes/socks

No jewelry except for a watch & 1 ring

No beards

P.S. ---------- Dr. EROS - I LOVE your hospital!!!!!!!!!

Nope, no dress code. But I do try to wear clothes.;)

I can understand the no red or black in the health field. Red is associated with blood, black is associated with death (in our culture).

Yes and it is enforced as well. ALL black ALL the time, NO shades of gray or navy, No jeans or cords. It keeps it simple and it is pretty hard to mess up all black...everyone seems to like it, I do.

EROS, how did I know you would be posting! LOL!
Yes, Dan but I have no idea what it was. I was never informed of it when I was hired.
browneyes, I never thought of the colors that way.

I wonder how you would feel if we started posting degrading pictures of physicians like that.

NurseKim, colors play a big role in how others are comforted. Purple and light pink are good colors to wear to relax people (in our culture). Yellow can help energize people. White can make people seem standoffish.

LucyStorm, I think EROS forgets men are nurses too.;)

I wouldn't mind much. :p

KIM, you can wear GLO'S lime green bikini under your scrubs; only YOU and I will know :) :) :) .

Of course, I've known a nurse or two who wore NO undergarments, but that's a different post for a different thread   .......

Lucystorm........fire away:D :D . Where are your pics??? :jester:

Yes, we have an easy to meet dress code, no denim, neon, yellow or black. White leather shoes with at least a backstrap and closed toe.

Trust me i have sent people home from work for lack of undergarments coupled with knit white pants:rolleyes:

and on the pictures....just consider the source and let them slide off of your back !

Guess they got your attention now, Kim. :)

Yes, we do have a dress code. We are a 24 hour advice line and we are in the BASEMENT back in a hallway like the boilers.

They are trying to get us to dress up to sit in this crummy office where no one sees us. The place is in big need of new carpet and cleaning of walls and ceilings. We even do our own vacuuming.

We are now not allowed to wear any kind of denim. Even jumpers or skirts. Even on the weekends. Stupid, IMHO. I refuse to buy or wear hot, polyester dressy pants in that awful hole. I wear cotton sportswear and blouses. It is hot in there too so no matter how little I wear, summer and winter, I use a small fan to cool off.

Give us a decent place to work and a clean environment and I will consider dressing up. Sorry this turned into a vent.

RNMOM, you need to buy one of those personal air conditioners, which you wear around your neck, from THE SHARPER IMAGE!!:D :D :D :D ........
