Do You Have a Dream?

Do you have a dream for your life? A vision or plan some may call it. I have always wanted to own my own business, like a family business. I had a thought come to me the other day that a bakery would be fun. A lot of hard work, but fun. I love to bake and so does my daughter. Funny, but I can see my husband driving a delivery truck and handling all the financial aspects.

What is your dream?

I always wanted to run a shelter for rescued animals. It never happened. You need to have a lot of money or be really good at fund-raising. Instead I went into education. In a way it's the same thing, though!:rotfl2:

I'm not sure I have a dream any more. Oh well.

Yup, I have a lot of goals I'm working on. I want to be a school slp in a rural area, maybe Alaska or Montana. I hope to own some acreage suitable for hunting and fishing, and have my own chickens, garden, and a steer. And I'm thinking in a few years I might adopt a kid (that part is a new idea, so I might not. I'd really have to think about that--my biological kids are almost grown, but a part of me wants to do it again with the parenting knowledge and skills I've learned, and without being a single mom with no specialized skills (money may not be everything, but it makes a difference).) Mostly I plan on spending my summers and other school breaks traveling. I want to go to the Galapagos Islands, Antarctica, Sweden, Ireland, backpacking in southeast asia, and lots of camping in Alaska for starters.

This is a fun topic!

My dream is to get a elem. teaching job right out of college in Florida, with my DBF who also wants to be a teacher, but in special ed. :teacher: We both would do that for a couple of years while planning our Disney wedding and Disneymoon! Then we'd decided when were ready to have kids, and when we started I would stop teaching until they got older. I would continue working though, doing something at home from the computer part time, so I could raise my kids.

I picture perfect holidays, where I cook and bake a lot of delicious food. popcorn:: I have three kids, two boys and a little girl to spoil and the boys would be protective over their little sis. :grouphug: My kids would be very actively involved in sports or other activitiies, and I would like to coach or help out with them. :cheer2:

I'd live in a nice house that I would have time to clean :laundy: because me and my boy will have our summers off! And of course we'd already be in Florida so we could plan nice long Disney vacations and take trips down there for the holidays. :santa:

What a dream :cloud9:

Lets hope some of it actually happens!! :rotfl:

I just want that cliche type of dream...
Get married (fiance and I are engaged, have been for 5 yrs now), have more kids (we have 1 but I want to be married before we have anymore), own a house with a yard, a cocker spaniel, and our yearly Disney vacation. When we get older maybe go other places we'd like to see, I like traveling and seeing new things.
I also want to teach, just graduated in dec. with a degree in education/special ed and psychology, but not sure if this is what I want after my student teaching experience. Honestly, I missed DD a lot, every morning I would get upset going to school knowing I wouldn't see her til 5 that night. Maybe my real dream is continue to be a SAHM.

I dream that maybe I'll get married some day. I'd like to do some acting. I'd really like to go to medical school and find a cure for my disease. I don't really dream much any more because everything I dream about gets stolen from me somehow. I guess dreams are what I'd like, but pretty much know will never happen.

I've always wanted to work at a movie studio and win an Oscar doing whatever I was good at...I am halfway there but they don't have an Oscar category for coordination and scheduling.

So, my current dream is to own a chocolate and candy store.

My dream is to be able to retire with enough money to pay bills and for DH and I to take a trip here and there. :)

My dream for myself is to obtain my history (maybe teaching) degree...Master's, possibly Ph.D. I'm taking my first baby step in the fall; I've already registered for Western Civ. at my community college. Hopefully I will stay employed so I can pay for my classes! It will take a while, as I can only afford - money and time-wise - to take one class at a time, but I will do it!

DBF and I share the dream of marrying, buying a house, and having a baby. We also might combine our traveling dreams into one trip - he wants to go to Austria, I want to go to Romania. Maybe we'll take his sister and stop in Prague as well (her dream).

No, I really don't have a dream anymore. I once thought I'd like to open up an old fashioned malt shop type of business but now I realize how much work, and $$$, it would be so I let go of that dream.

I am mostly just enjoying life at this point, I'm 52 and retired so I'm enjoying "smelling the roses" more now and just enjoying each day as it comes and being thankful to be alive.

My children are grown and I'm enjoying spending time with them, and my grandchildren and watching them grow.

We have some property up north now that we can enjoy, and hope to put a small cabin on the property in a few years. So I guess my dream is to have that cabin, and just enjoy our retirement in the north woods and enjoy the peace and quiet and the wildlife.

But isn't coordination & scheduling essentially what producers do?

agnes!

Oh, I also have thoughts of moving south, visiting WDW every year, traveling to Hawaii, being involved in the tourism industry in FL, etc. - but those are more like fantasies to me. They are not unattainable goals, just ones that I tend to push to the back of my life while dealing with the "stuff" that's in the front of my life. ;)

My dream is to get my RN, get married, have children and work in a pediatric nursing setting. I know, it's not too flashy.

It's completely unrealistic but what I would have liked to have been all throughout high school was a ballet dancer. I attended a pre-professional school and lived away from home but unfortunately had to quit, mostly because of an injury. I miss it like crazy and when I talk to friends who kept going with it and are now dancing professionally, I do get a bit sad. I continue to take classes just for fun, but it isn't quite the same. So while ballet isn't my dream anymore, I still think about it!

I dream of a big, family-filled wedding with my DBF. I hope to be in my current field my entire life but may take off a few years to raise the two or three kids he and I want to have. I dream of living in this beautiful house near ours-- used to belong to the circus magnate Seth B. Howles. I dream of happy, healthy babies and hope to always live in NY (kind of have to for my career anyway). I dream of family vacations to Disney and to Ireland like I had when I was a child-- my father is from Ireland and I rarely see my family from over there. I want my kids to meet this part of their family. I also hope to always be near loved ones.

Yes, except they have a friend or a way to get the movie made using borrowed or studio money. I don't! Plus, most producers start out with no job. I'm too chicken to never have a job.

I suppose I could always become an associate producer and go from there, though.

I fulfilled part of my dream by marrying a wonderful man and having a healthy, beautiful baby girl! I also managed to get a BA and a MA while working. It would be great to open up a small business like a bakery! But now I would really like to be able to spend more time with DH and DD to make a better home for us. I would also love not to worry about money or bills (winning lotto ticket, anyone?) that way we could live in a nice house and travel the world (especially Ireland, Italy, Greece, etc)! Ahhhh...dreams! :cloud9:
