My office is having a dessert open house on Monday. I am going to bring some punch but the one I traditionally make for baby showers, etc., is almost to sweet and "ice creamy" if you know what I mean? It is made with 7-Up and sherbet and is very good but might be too much with desserts.

Do you have any other good, refreshing punch recipes that aren't too rich and sweet?

The one I almost always use is purple grape juice - one large container added to 2 ltrs. of Sprite or 7up. I sometimes float raspberry sherbet on the top. It always seems to go over well. I hate fruit punch so I can actually drink this.

Good Luck!:)

We have a frozen brand here - I think by Mayfield - it comes in green or red - you dump it out and add equal amounts of sprite and ginger ale. I like it. You can add some orange or lemon/lime slices to float on top.

We usually do sprite and 5 Alive juice. Very refreshing.

I was suggest the same thing. I know from South now Mayfield is king here to.

I have several good recipes and have used them over the years:

Christmas Party Punch

Ingredients :

1 can (12-oz) frozen orange juice concentrate
1 can (6-oz) frozen lemonade concentrate
1 can (18-oz) pineapple juice
6 cup club soda
6 pt Cranberry juice cocktail

Method :
Add water to frozen concentrates as directed on cans. Mix all ingredients well. Serve in punch bowl over ice.
Yield: 50 servings.

Golden Wedding Punch
Yields: 40 servings

INGREDIENTS:
1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen
orange juice concentrate
1 (46 fluid ounce) can
sweetened pineapple juice 1 3/4 cups lemon juice
2 cups white sugar
1 club soda

DIRECTIONS:
1. In a 2 gallon punch bowl, combine orange juice concentrate, pineapple juice, lemon juice and sugar. Stir in club soda

I do not put any alcohol in my punch recipes because the kids drink it too.

Here is how you can make a nice presentation for the punchbowl.

I cannot post a link, so go to Halloween Online magazine, click recipes, and then click on punchbowl fx.

You can adapt it for Christmas by painting the ring gold or red.

This is a big hit for any party.

So do you think the Mayfield stuff is better than some of the other "punch" containers in the frozen section.

While I do live in Virginia, we are not in "the South";) but I did notice that our one Harris Teeter carries Mayfield ice cream (which I thought was pretty good). I'll have to go take a drive over there to see if they carry the punch if you all really think its that good!

The Cranberry Sierra Mist or 7UP is fantastic with Lime sherbert. Not too sweet and looks Christmassy. :thumbsup2

A good non sweet punch I like and use often is:

1/2 can of frozen OJ
1 Bottle of gingerale
1 Bottle of Cranberry Juice or Cranberry Juice Coctail.

You can defrost the OJ first and just pour out 1/2 the can. Mix all together and serve.
