Do you have a contract that haunts you?

Fortunately I haven’t missed out on one I wanted but I wish I could redo what I offered for my AUL contract.

I didn't buy BWV for $60pp because it was too expensive 🤣
Length of contract and MF had an influence too in the decision.
Went for SSR for $50 and in the last 12 years I've been to BWV three times anyway, even in standard view. I would have used the points as SAP anyway, so it's ok, but now, after I've tried all resorts, I'd like if my smallest contract were at BWV.

I wish I would have bought more VGC points when I initially bought them direct. So 100 points instead of 50. I did eventually buy 50 more resale, but it was for a lot more than I paid for the original ones direct! I love my VGC points and the staycations that they give me!

Several years ago Fidelity posted a March UY (one of my UYs) subsidized 160 point Aulani contract for $86pp. I thought about grabbing it, but at the time we weren’t actually interested in owning at Aulani. I wouldn’t say it haunts me, more like, “dang, that was a great deal…” 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Particular contract, no.

But when we were in "buying mode," we had not yet stayed at BCV. Had we stayed there, we might have purchased there versus other contracts when the time left was a much larger horizon.

I love BC but man, there's only seventeen years left and the point price is nearly identical to a decent BLT contract, which has over twice as many years left. If I bought BCV, I'm pretty sure that in 2042, I'd be regretting that.

with the flood of Aulani contracts hitting the market, maybe a deal like that is possible in the coming weeks/months

Don't let that stop you... you would enjoy 17 years before that even would become an issue, IF you are even still going then. :)

Not a contract as such but not buying

I regret not buying earlier on the year when prices got low and lots of bank points contracts. I should have been braver and moved some money around to cover it.

Esp as I need to book at 7 months out what is slowly creeping up on me.

Just got back from a stay (Oct 24) and experienced BC for 6 nights. My #1 DVC rule is NO 2042 contracts. BCV may be the exception now. Absolutely phenomenal location and laid back atmosphere. Loved it!

Wish I would have know about DVC earlier and been able to lock in the 25 point direct contract to get full benefits. But I'm totally happy with all the resale purchases.
Yep same, I wish I had known sooner, it would be nice to have 100 or less with benefits... and to have paid the prices then too.

There is not a particular contract that haunts me, but a dumb missed opportunity. I received a small inheritance in 2021 and used it to go to Aulani and a 10 day Disney cruise that went from Honolulu to Vancouver, BC. It was a rather costly vacation. At the time I knew about DVC, but assumed the prices were much higher. I wish I had investigated it as I probably would have bought into DVC with the money instead.
