HELP! Having a bbq this afternoon! :stir:

My co workers SWEAR that WITH the husk makes the best corn... I bought some and now have no clue. There are so many recipes on the web, was hoping someone could tell me from experience how to do it!

Thanks in advance!
:teeth:

My hubby grills the corn with the husks on, it stays moist and tender. I am thinking he grills them until the husk starts to get dry/dark. sorry i don't have more info.

either way is good. And they taste different each way. Make some of both! :thumbsup2

If you make it with them on, no big deal. I like to wet them a little and put them on til they get hot... should take less than 5 minutes. If you take them off, make sure the grill is clean where you place them. And roll them around to get a nice char broiledm roasted flavor.

Pull the husks back gently, remove all of the silk, brush with softened butter, then close the husks, tie off with twists-ties and soak the ears in cold water for about 20 minutes. Then grill on med temp for about 20-25 minutes (until tender), turning often. Enjoy!

I hope you have a nice picnic!

From the booth at the Wisconsin State Fair - soak corn - husks and all in water for at least an hour. Then grill. The State Fair booth then dips each ear into a vat of real melted butter. Heaven.

I take the husks off but wrap the corn in tin foil, with garlic butter and salt and pepper...mmmmm mouth watering just thinking about it!

I take the husks off also and wrap them in foil... but I'm going to try PoohandWendy's way!!! That sounds wicked DEEEE-licious!!!

That is what we did minus the pepper. In fact we are doing this for dinner tonight! Yum! :thumbsup2

We leave the husks on. Peel the husks back and remove the silk string, spray on some olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper and chili powder. Re-wrap the husks and grill away.

We're having this with grilled steaks tonight. :thumbsup2

OK, here's what you do -- microwave them and then put them on the grill real quick when no one's looking, and then lift the lid on the grill and say "Wow, they're done! Come and get 'em!" :)

Just kidding! You could do some with husks and some without, though, and see which kind you end up liking better. Hope your BBQ goes well and everyone has fun!

I grill them in the husks, and leave the silks, too! The silks melt away. YUM!

This has me confused - do you take the silks off the corn before grilling?

My DH likes corn on the cob - hates the silks and makes a "production" out of picking off stray ones that I miss.

I have never tried grilling before - do the silks really melt away?

Thank you for helping me clear up my confusion.

without the husks--foil, with butter and the veggie seasoning from Chef Paul Homme (I think that is his name--the chef that looks like Dom Deluise).

DELISH!

I'd do it with the husks if i could figure out how to get butter in them and not burn the husks.

YUP! :thumbsup2

I haven't grilled corn personally, but I know people that have grilled it both ways with success. The corn in the husk would probably be the method I'd try because the husk serves as an insulator and helps it to steam, keeping the corn moist, where direct heat is going to dry it out more. The other thing you could do is pre-steam it (stove top) and then just mark it on the grill.

Peel back the husks, but dont remove them. Remove the silks, put a pat of butter, salt and pepper on the corn, and pull the husks back into place. Wrap the corn in aluminum foil, and grill for about 25-30 minutes.

I did this for the first time yesterday, and it turned out perfectly.
