Comedy Clubs, even if you have no ideal who the Comedians are ?

I do, I just love the small clubs of unkown comedians, some time it might make you mad they are so not funny, but usually have some fun

We used to quite often. Years ago it was quite common to have comedians in the lounges but not so much anymore since everyone has a venue now. We still use a line from a guy we saw open up for someone else. Don’t remember the comedian but it was a great line. I listen to comedy quite often on my phone when running around. I know the routines forwards and backwards but they still crack me up.

Back in college mid 90s, we were close to manhattan so we used to go to the comic strip. We’d somehow get free tickets to go. It was fun. One of the comedians that we saw later became famous. It was Jim Gaffigan.

I like him, very cool, you know often the guy/girl only has to say one word and you know if their funny of not

The only one to ever get me into a comedy club was Mitch Hedberg. I went to see him a couple of times. Sadly, he was a life and talent cut way too short.

Back in the late 80's/early 90's I used to go to a local club that occasionally had comedy nights. Some of them were pretty funny, but I don't think I ever saw anybody who became famous.

Me and my friends used to go alot. Now only maybe once a year. It's great having no clue who the comedians are, it's more fun to trying to figure out where they're coming from. I would've loved to see George Carlin live. Could you imagine if he was still here to laugh at us 🤣

its funny you mentioned him. the pther day I for some reason was YouTube him, and I forgot how funny he was

My DH took me to see George Carlin for my 21st birthday before he became an angry old man. Don’t get me wrong, anger can be and is funny (Lewis Black is a favorite) but he got to where he was just ranting in later years.

I've gone maybe 2-3 times. I've watched the comedians on the Royal cruises though, and they're usually funny.

I know what you mean, but I still LOVE Carlin and would have given anything to see him.

DH and I go to the Comedy Cellar in NYC sometimes for date night. There are clubs with free tickets that we go to occasionally as well. I'm usually pretty indifferent about going - DH is the one who likes it more - but I have always had fun once I'm there, especially Comedy Cellar.

We do when we are in NYC, a comedy club along with a Broadway show is a must on all our trips!

I have been a few times, I really enjoy it. Seeing Jerry Seinfeld is like one of my greatest experiences ever. I would love to do that again. (granted that was not in a "comedy club", it was more of a venue).

I just like to watch stand up comedy in general. My comfort thing seems to be a night with a glass of wine and a good stand up comedy show on TV.

Not clubs, really, but my DH's Lodge runs a comedy night for a charity every year, and I always enjoy going to that! The same comic come back to host, and brings 2-3 new people to do sets each year. A few have been duds, but most are really good!
