We've allways used this day as a travel check in and pool day. I guess I never set up a day at the park on my travel day because I'm scared of delayed travel. I figured I'd post this to see if There were other good ideas?

We stay at the Epcot resorts, so we always pop in Epcot on arrival day, even if just to ride Spaceship Earth and eat.

Yes, because from where I live (Atlantic City, NJ area) I take a flight to Orlando that leaves at 7:30am and I take a flight back that arrives around 11:30pm so I have plenty of park time on my travel days.

I always take the earliest flight I can get so that I can get as much park time as possible.

Yes, we usually get there between mid-morning to mid-afternoon, plenty of time to go to a park. Typically Epcot.

yep,we take the red eye flight to Orlando. We arrive at 6:00 am,check in maybe grab a quick nap and head out for a park.

We always hit a park on arrival day. We drive about 15 hours through the night and arrive between 6 and 7 a.m., check in, grab breakfast and get on the bus. We usually hit AK or Epcot for a few hours, come back and nap, and then go back for dinner.

On departure day, it just depends. We allow two days to drive home, so we can pretty much do whatever sounds good at the time. We don't make a hotel reservation for the way home, just start calling when we decide if/where we are going to stop for the night.

We've allways went in summer and the earliest we can usually get to MCO from Midland TX is 3pm which gets you to a Resort around 430/5pm. We may try an evening at the park but usually the pool feels great after a day of travel. I do agree though maximum park time is awesome

We don't visit on travel days. When we get there we typically rent a car for the day and go buy food (cheaper than a taxi and the food delivery services). Then spend the rest of the night at the Boardwalk walking around. The last day is spent packing and leaving in the afternoon.

We always go during the fall or winter when there are either MNSSHP or MVMCP and do that our first night. Many people think it's too much, but it's a family tradition, and we are late night people, so it's a great way for us to start our Disney vacation.

Earliest flight going in so I can spend time at the parks. Latest flight going back home on my upcoming trip so I can use time to go to MK for a last look:(

Ever since we got annual passes we do, although we never used to. Now that we have annual passes we are much more likely to just head over to a park for a ride or two and maybe dinner.

No, but we drive to WDW from NC. We leave at 5 am and usually make it about 3-4 pm. By that time we are pretty tired and just eat, tour the resort, and get things ready for RD the next day.

We do. We get in around 11. Get settled in go to mk use two fp's before dinner. Go to chef mickeys for dinner and come back for our last fast pass and hit rides with small Waite times. Back to resort before it's too late for a good night sleep.

If we are at a resort with walking or boat transportation, we might pop in here or there for dinner.

It's become a tradition to go to Magic Kingdom on our last day. We usually get a 7:30 pm flight back to NJ so we check out of our hotel, spend a few hours at Magic Kingdom, then drive to airport (or bus back to hotel for Magical Express).

I like to maximize my Disney time in general, so I take the red-eye from the West Coast and go to the parks after I have cleaned up a little in the room (assuming it is ready, which I've had great luck with so far). Usually by the time I get to the airport I'm itching to get into the parks, haha!

Same here. We fly after school and after work and arrive wt night. We do a one day, one way rental for less than the price of a taxi, go to Publix, arrive at the hotel and hand the rental car keys to the valet. By the time we check in it is usually around 10:00 pm.

We've gone back and forth on this. Our flight leaves at 6am which means we are leaving the house at 3am and our flight will land at noon. We ultimately decided to just hang at the resort for the day. Get settled, take a nap, swim (we'll pack our swim suits in our carry ons so we don't have to wait for luggage)...maybe take a bus ride and even the monorail. If we decide we feel great and want to hit a park, we can add a day to our tickets on check in.

I'd rather add a day once we get there than to add a day now and not use it.
