If you do, what does your company usually give?

DH's company (Fortune 500) usually gives him something branded. He got a travel mug this year, which is his 27th year.

I'd like to get our employees something. We're a small company. Any ideas? I was thinking gift card to a restaurant.

Lol no. I’m a public school teacher.

We do. I work for a home health care company that is independently owned and our owners are very sweet. We usually have an office luncheon and there is always flowers and a gift bag for us. Those little things make a HUGE difference to all of us.

I know they give a gift at 5 years, you get to choose an item from a catalog type website, value around $100. I'm not sure about the rest of the 5 year increments, but at 20 you get a trip. I started this job at 51, so highly unlikely I'll be here long enough to earn the trip lol. 25 years again you get to choose a gift, not sure of the value, but I know someone got an Apple watch for theirs.

At my five year mark, I received a pin ("5 Years Service") and I think $50. The longer you've been here, in five year increments, the higher amount of cash and another pin with a new number on it.

Restaurant gift card is a good idea for your company. Even better, say an Amazon gift card, that way people who don't frequent restaurants can still get use out if it.

Plastics manufacturing. We have a catalog to select a gift. Hit 25 years 2 years ago and I have a 2 burner Weber gas grill to add to the smoker and Kettle. Most of the other anniversary dates I selected something and it broke within days because it was all garbage stuff. The 20 year and 25 year is nice stuff. I don't know about 30 because none of us has hit 30 yet as I am one of the 2nd wave of hires when we opened 3 months before I was hired.

In the past you got something at 1, 3, 5, and then every 5. I am not sure if they still have that program as I left the company and came back so I am starting over and have not been there a year.

DH received some cheapo luggage after 30 years. When he retired he received a plaque (a year late) acknowledging over 40 years of service. The glass in the frame was broken.

No gift, but starting on our third anniversary we get $300. On our 4th anniversary $400, etc. up to 30 years/$3000. Next month I’ll get my $500 pay. Of course it’s taxed, so it’ll be a bit less. My last employer had no incentives.

DH gets a small bonus (<$100); plus each year gets more vacation time and a greater amount vested for his 401K (so not really a bonuses, just more of an annual perk).

I believe that is how they do it at my company but it began after I hit those early ones. My first was at 10 years and have made it to 15. We got this plaque thing made out of glass referencing how many years and then there is a website we go on to pick a gift.

Current employer, at each significant anniversary, 5, 10, etc, we get to pick from a catalog of stuff, I chose a Binocular for my 5th. My last employer (major financial institution) for my 25th, I picked a vase from a Tiffany catalog.

When I worked for a huge corporation, we picked from a catalog of stuff every year. I got my flatware one year. Still use it lol.

Personally, I recommend skipping the restaurant gift card and either do a Visa type gift card or cash.

Nothing from my employer. DH gets a bonus every year starting at year 5. Years 5-10 are $500 each year. This year was year 25 so he received $2500 this year. He will receive $2500 each year until he quits are reaches 30 years

For a major anniversary, they may bring in a cake for your department. Like 25 or more years.

They used to have a small booklet/list for every five years of service. The level of gifts was better in each subsequent increment. I received a pen in a wooden stand at five years. Before I reached ten years, the program was discontinued so that was the only gift I ever received. From what I recall, those with 25 years or more had a choice from items such as a briefcase, clock or globe.

Every 5 years we get a gift from a “catalog” In $50 increments. 5 years = $50, 10 years = $100, 15 years = $150, and so on. The only gifts I recall are a Tiffany necklace at 10 years, a wine fridge at 15 years, and a set of Henckels knives for 20 years.
