This year we are definately going on Splash Mountain. DH was curious to find out if this would have to be a end of the day attraction due to the fact he doesn't want to walk around in squishy sneakers.

Does this ride get you wet at all?

Not too bad. It's not like Kali River Rapids. Now that one, they should just warn you that you will take a shower if you ride this ride.

The closer you are to the front, the more wet you'll get. But it's not a squishy sneakers kind of wet. There's just the one splash that you see at the end of the ride that generally only gets the top half of you wet.

My advice is sit in the back and put the lighter kids in the front. My Hubby and daughter rode in front and drenched us all. They both ended up with a lap full. Actually we usually don't get too wet on it just splashed. Think it was just a fluke that they got drenched. It was also June so maybe weather has something to do with how wet they got.

There's also a small waterfall towards the end of the ride so if anyone does not want to get wet a good strategy is to sit on the left side of the boat. I have sat in all of the seats on this ride and have never been soaked to the point of having squishy shoes... :earseek: Kali River rapids is another story :earseek:

If you are in the front or short people/kids are in front of you, you can count on getting wet. I've come off that ride almost dry and completely soaked

We went on it 3 times, and hardly got wet at all.But some people come off and they are pretty wet so I guess it depends :earboy2:

I think you should look at it as if someone turned a hose on you for about one second.. That's about how wet you will get at worst!!

Your sneakers will probably be completely dry but will definitely not be squishy!

I've got to ride SM with you guys that come off completely dry! It seems that every time I'm on that ride, I get SOAKED, I've never come off of it dry. The worst was probably when I rode it with the guys on my DH's softball team, every inch of my clothes were wet and the water was just dripping down my legs, it was gross! PLUS, my loving DH always shoves me against the right side of the log as we get to that waterfall at the end of the ride, just adding insult to injury!!

Moral of the story...DON'T ride SM with 7 big guys! :rotfl2:

The first three times I rode this I barely got sprinkled. The fourth time I rode it, I got completely drenched. But as others said, you only get wet on your top half. The water fell directly on my head. My hair and shirt were literally dripping, but my pants and shoes were completely dry. Of course, this happened during MVMCP on a very chilly evening :cold: - I only got sprinkled on my hot June rides.

Oh, and the worst part...the water on Splash Mountain stinks! I had to walk around the rest of the evening with my hair smelling like that - ewww! :crazy2:

I always wear my poncho on this ride, so I don't have to worry about how wet I'm gonna get. I'm not fond of having damp/wet clothes on so I don't care how silly I look with my poncho on. We've had plenty of people tell us they were envious of our ponchos!

Like others have said, I've been on SM and come off pretty dry as well as pretty soaked. :earboy2: My last time on it, my whole upper body was soaked and I walked around with funky looking hair the rest of the day. It was also the first time I rode up front so that might have had something to do with it.

I'm with you! I love SM but don't like walking around soaked (which always seems to happen lol) for long.

Myst

Until my last ride, I had never gotten very wet-a little splashed maybe. But the last time, I rode in the front with my then 10 yr old dd, and a wave washed up over the front or side and filled our seat with water. My shorts were completely soaked. It wasn't a great feeling, believe me. So I guess the answer is getting wet is a possibility, but usually not the rule. I'm sitting in the back next week!

I rode second row, with a kid in front of me. At the bottom of the drop, big 'ole splash right smack dab in the face. Nothing else got wet, just the front of my hair and my face were soaked. This is about the most overrated ride on property and it's absolutely endless, though that's not what you asked and yes, I know I'm in the minority... But yeah, you can definitely get wet so count on it and just be happy if you don't get soaked with that nasty stinkin' water. :)

I have been on it and not gotten wet at all. Then last year we went on and my hair was drenched. You just never know( we were not sitting in front)

Splash Mountain is my favorite ride! :Pinkbounc

Normally I get at least a little bit wet, but sometimes not much at all. Even the times I've gotten the wetest, it's never reached my shoes.

Now Kali River Rapids is another story!
