While discussing our upcoming trip, my wonderful DW admitted to me she sometimes gets a little tired of riding the same things over and over again. To be honest, after an 8-9 day trip, the 10th or 12th on Haunted Mansion isn't the same as the first time to me, either. I still love the rides, but we've done most countless times, now.
Do you ever admit to yourselves that maybe the rides aren't the excitment they used to be? If so, what do you do then to add excitment to your trip?
Actually, we feel quite similar. We live in FL and go to Disney every year for 3-6 days. We're at a point now where no one in our family wants to wait on line for stuff, even the kids say "it's ok, I've done it before" if there's a long wait. What we try to do is find something(or several somethings) that are new to do each year. Here are some fun things we've done to keep feeling the magic:
1)Take the family magic tour
2)Take and illuminations or wishes cruise
3)See the Hoop De Doo
4)See the Backyard BBQ
5)See the Luau
6)Go to a water park
7)Go to Disney Quest
8)Buy the hidden mickeys book and find all the mickeys
9)Experience some of the other stuff in Orlando like the Titanic Exhibit, Wonderworks, Arabian Knights, Medeival Times, Universal Studios, Sea World, Islands of Adventure, etc
10)Try a restaurant you've never tried before, either in the parks or at one of the resorts.
11)Go to the campfire at Fort Wilderness
12)Plan a resort/pool day
This year, we'll be there 5 days but we're only planning 1 park day which will be split between MK and Epcot. We'll probably only hit our absolute favorite rides. The other days will be spent at Typhoon Lagoon(we've never been), Disney Quest(we're devoting the whole entire day this time), and shopping/wandering around Orlando. This is what we all decided to do this year in order to keep it "magical" for us.
