Do you get tired of the rides? If so, what then?

While discussing our upcoming trip, my wonderful DW admitted to me she sometimes gets a little tired of riding the same things over and over again. To be honest, after an 8-9 day trip, the 10th or 12th on Haunted Mansion isn't the same as the first time to me, either. I still love the rides, but we've done most countless times, now.

Do you ever admit to yourselves that maybe the rides aren't the excitment they used to be? If so, what do you do then to add excitment to your trip?

Honestly, even tho this is trip #12 & most of those trips were >10 days each, I'm still not sick of the rides. I'm not as commando as I was & I spend alot more time absorbing the atmosphere, enjoying fine dining, swimming, people watching etc..... I just haven't gotten tired of the rides yet. I'm always on the lookout for small changes, Hidden Mickeys, details that I missed previously etc...... :confused3

GET A BABYSITTER FOR JUST ONE NIGHT! It would be worth it for a nice dinner with the wife and a night out at Pleasure Island.

I've done Disney with no kids once and it is a whole different world :earsboy:

I don't do too many rides when I am on solo trips. I spend all my time finding characters and repeatedly checking all the popular character meeting spots to see what characters are out and about that day. Odd, yes, but that is just what we like to do! Then when the prime-character-finding times wind down in the mid/late afternoon, I like eating at a restaurant I haven't tried before. :) And I love spending time on recreational things like swimming, renting bikes, and boats. :) Sometimes I just relax in my room and take a nap, as I get so tired during a normal work week that it is so nice just to do nothing! :teeth:

I never get too bored on my trips! :)

Oh gosh...I would take a break from the rides, and perhaps:

1. Do a 'resort' tour...visit all of the resorts, and see the magic in each of them!
2. Go on a Backstage Tour at any of the parks - they're all awesome!
3. Rent a car and drive to Cocoa Beach...swim in the ocean.... :fish:
4. Do a "Chocolate Around the World" tour at Epcot...see if you can find something chocolate in EVERY pavilion....! :mickeybar
5. Go on a Hidden Mickey hunt...find every ONE of them! ::MickeyMo
6. Visit the water parks and cool off. :umbrella:
7. Go to the Spa and have a couple's massage...mmmm.... :love2:
8. Play miniature golf one day.
9. Rent the water mice and cut loose! :boat:
10. Go dancing at Boardwalk or Downtown Disney :dancer:

If you did some of these things, and spaced out the parks, I think you wouldn't get so tired of the rides!

We usually only ride the same ride once, at the most twice. Disney is not the parks for us. It's a getaway. We do all sorts of stuff and relax.

Shop at Downtown Disney
Go to a movie
Eat at nice places
Play miniature golf
Oct/Nov Food and Wine Festival
Next November, Festival of the Masters
Catch the Packer Football game at the ESPN Club on Sunday
Dec. Candlelight Processional
Swim in the pool/ relax by the pool
AKL-we watched the animals from our deck
Disney always seems to have little "entertainment things" spread around, we stop to watch
We just seem to always be relaxedly busy, and really don't spend a great deal of time on the rides anymore

Things on the list
Spa
Tours, especially the Segway Tour
Rides we still havent' done and new ones (this list seems to never end)
Flower and Garden Show (maybe next year!!!)
and we're always reading and always finding more!!!

I agree to take in the atmosphere. Sometimes the most enjoyable moments are sitting on main street with an icecream watching the world go by.

The shows- 3D/4D, plays, nighttime, stunt, street-I love the shows and a lot of them are air conditioned!

Christame

We enjoy the rides once each trip, but we like to shop and eat, and chill at the resort. :earsboy: We've been 30+ times, so we don't do commando anymore.

Actually, we feel quite similar. We live in FL and go to Disney every year for 3-6 days. We're at a point now where no one in our family wants to wait on line for stuff, even the kids say "it's ok, I've done it before" if there's a long wait. What we try to do is find something(or several somethings) that are new to do each year. Here are some fun things we've done to keep feeling the magic:
1)Take the family magic tour
2)Take and illuminations or wishes cruise
3)See the Hoop De Doo
4)See the Backyard BBQ
5)See the Luau
6)Go to a water park
7)Go to Disney Quest
8)Buy the hidden mickeys book and find all the mickeys
9)Experience some of the other stuff in Orlando like the Titanic Exhibit, Wonderworks, Arabian Knights, Medeival Times, Universal Studios, Sea World, Islands of Adventure, etc
10)Try a restaurant you've never tried before, either in the parks or at one of the resorts.
11)Go to the campfire at Fort Wilderness
12)Plan a resort/pool day

This year, we'll be there 5 days but we're only planning 1 park day which will be split between MK and Epcot. We'll probably only hit our absolute favorite rides. The other days will be spent at Typhoon Lagoon(we've never been), Disney Quest(we're devoting the whole entire day this time), and shopping/wandering around Orlando. This is what we all decided to do this year in order to keep it "magical" for us.
