Next summer it will be DH, DS (8 at time of travel) , me and my mom. Everyone likes something different, yikes. I try to please everyone, but it is getting harder. DS suddenly has an opinion, and I don't like the idea of chicken nuggets most nights. My mom is not very adventurous when it comes to eating, and DH isn't into anything too spicy.
We will not have DP, as we already have park tix, well, everyone but my mom. And, Narcoossee's is a must as DH & I never miss:love:. Took mom to 50's prime time and Ohana before and crystal palace for lunch, so want to try something different. DH & I do like Le Cellier, so it may be a strong option.
Ate at Teppan Edo last year, and while it was good, we have Japanese steakhouses around home that are good too.
DH would eat steak every night if I let him :sad2:
I can please two people per restaurant sometime three, but four is stretching it. The stress has started and we don't leave till sometime in June :headache:

Don't try have everyone pick their favorite and include them.

You just cannot please everyone.

Yeah, PP is right - no pleasing everyone every time.

When we're going with a group, be it family or friends, we just have each person or couple or whatever choose their top pick, and we book those. On the night we have dinner someplace I don't particularly care for, it's ok because I know they have to dine where I want on a later night. There is always some sort of chicken-breast-and-pasta type simple thing on the menu as a default.

I always tell my travel party in advance, "This is vacation and I won't be stressed out planning relaxation time ... just know in advance that you may not be deliriously happy all day every day, but in the end you'll have a great time. You won't starve, you'll get to ride and/or see what you want, you will have to wait for others just as others will wait for you, and you'll be asked for input as we go just as much as everyone else. Now go pack your sunglasses and extra socks, and leave me alone, I have a trip to plan." :rotfl:

How about Cape May and Tusker House? I know some of the buffets aren't that great but those two are, IMO.

:)

I commented to our server recently, that I liked what was on the children's menu better than the adult menu. I was told I could order a child's meal and get child's portion, or can order off the kid's menu and get an adult portion of the meal. This adds more options to the dining selection!

Oh my yes! I have planned many trips for us and family and friends. It can stress you out but don't let it. I finally learned to not take it personally if someone's eggs aren't right and the butter isn't soft enough (sad but true). I give everyone the opportunity to look at the menus and beg for their input but 1/2 the time they say, "You choose. We don't care." After having my Disney trip spending time feeling apologetic 1/2 the time I finally realized that try as you will you CAN'T please everybody all the time...ESPECIALLY when you're on vacation (ANYWHERE). Even people you like and love are out of their element and off their routine. Don't take it personally.

Amen!! I have been the sole planner for 14 people for our trip in 9 days! What I did was basically ask for their input about what type of food they would like, or what kind of experience they wanted, and booked what I saw fit! I love my family but if I'm doing the hours of research and planning, then it's my way or the highway!! :rotfl: But seriously.. you are the planner do the best you can, if people complain tell them you will gladly let them take care of everything that goes into planning a Disney trip next time!:thumbsup2

Everybody gets 2 picks and 2 vetos, if your top pick is someone else's veto, let them fight it out

Since everyone has an opinion, let them help plan. Best part is, everyone has a hand in it and can feel good about the different places they are trying:thumbsup2

I feel your pain...a few times we have vacationed with friends and I was the one making the plans....no one was giving me any insight as to what they wanted but they were sure quick to tell me what they didnt like!

What I did was book what I wanted and if they didnt like it they didnt have to eat with us.

My one picky friend would eat a CS before our dinner ressie and then sit with us and have a drink or an appie...that worked out perfect

Around here I take everyones opinion in to consideration but the rule is I am the planner and "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit" because if you weren't at Disney you would be getting a bologna sandwich for lunch.
