Do you get moved if combining cash with using DVC points?

I'm sure I am not the first to ask this question:

What the general experience of those who have stayed in the same size accommodations, for example, a full week from Sunday to Sunday, using DVC points for the first five days and paying cash for the last two? Is there a significant chance that we will be moved to a different unit since technically that is a separate reservation?

It's possible, but not very likely if:

*you call MS and ask them to note your CRO reservation number on your DVC reservation with a request to stay in the same unit. It's also a good idea to call CRO and have them put your DVC confirmation number on that reservation with the same request. If you booked the cash ressie through MS, just ask the CM to link the two ressies as above.

*repeat your request at check in.

Good luck!

I had the same question with a cash reservation on the front end(1st night) with the next 6 nights on points at OKW in a 2BR. I was told by both MS and the front desk manager at OKW that they will do everything possible to not move you, HOWEVER, CRO can only book dedicated 2BR units, our points reservation is for a 2BR lockoff. If there are no dedicated 2br units available after the first night, we will have to move. I guess the only up side is that if we have to move, i'll go over to the front desk early and hopefully have a better shot at getting special requests fulfilled under the new first come first served policy.

That's really interesting. I own at BWV where all of the 2 bedrooms units are lock offs and I know CRO can book 2 bedroom units for cash at BWV. Wonder why OKW is different?

Also wonder if CRO has the same restiction for VWL and BCV as they also have some dedicated 2 bedrooms and some lock offs.

Not usually, althought they always tell you they can move you if necessary. We have stayed in a 2BR (with 5 of us), paying cash for the weekend and then using points for the Sunday through Thursday portion, and they have always left us in the same unit.

I have always had them tell me when I made the reservations this way that they can move us if necessary. They also say they really don't do that unless there is absolutely no other alternative. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

We just did this a few weeks ago with no problem. I called both CRO and MS and had the reservations "linked" in their system and cross-referenced with each other. We stayed on in the same villa w/o interruption and it was a pretty full week, Jersey Week.

We did that last August. We stayed for two weeks using cash for Friday and Saturday and had the reservations linked. We were given room keys at check in for the whole two weeks.
