we will be in DLR over Christmas 2010, and are debating between PPH or a good neighbor hotel.
We will be checking in on 12/26 and staying until the 30th, so i am sure the parks will fill to capacity atleast once while we are there, and we want to make sure we can get into the parks.

if not, then our answer is clear....PPH
Thank you

Tina

Well, there is nothing that guarantees you admission, if it's a FULL closure due to full capacity. Same as at WDW...if it's absolutely fire-marshall code full, no one is getting in until someone comes out.

That said, staying onsite gets you "ahead of the line" from the people offsite (including even good neighbor), especially if you were already there, etc etc. There are *many* levels of closure...first person getting locked out as the parks approach capacity is the day-visitor who hasn't yet bought a ticket...last is the person who has admission, has already been in that day, and is staying onsite...

That's from what I've read, at least.

But if you leave and the parks absolutely completely fill up, it doesn't matter where you're staying. I recommend getting there early and not leaving if you're worried about it.

There is no guarantee you'll get in any time, no matter where you are staying.

Molly, what do you mean that staying onsite gets you "ahead of the line"? We've stayed on and off site and we didn't get anything special staying onsite, I'm confused.

I think she means if they start restricting re-enters, onsite guests have priority over those that are staying elsewhere...however even though I've heard this before, I'm not sure if it's neccessarily true.

Oh I see, I've never experienced that, even when everyone (including AP holders) was told to get handstamps (in like October or something random) they were not saying on-site guests had priority. Man, that would really upset me......LOL
