Do You Get Anything For Referring?

When referring someone to DVC and they buy is their an incentive program or reward to the member who did the referring and what is it?

Depends on the state you live in. Here in Colorado it is illegal to receive a referal fee. I have a friend in NY where she received 200 disney bucks.

We recently received an e-mail about this. If someone refers 1 person who buys during this year, they get a choice of 4 options: $200 in Disney dollars, $200 off of point add ons, $200 off of yearly dues, or $200 donate to a children's charity. And if 2 people they refer but this year it goes to $500 w/the same 4 option, 3 people $750 in options, 4 people buy $1000.
So far I've preached it to anyone that will listen, but either people think I'm nuts (they just don't ''get it'') or they figure they can just come with me on my trips.

Sorry, the state of Texas does not allow referal incentives. I know, I'm bummed about it too.

I've had 3 friends from TX to join since we joined. I love DVC enough that I will still tell my friends about it.

The person also has to mention you on the very first contact they have with DVC. It's in the DVC records even if they first stopped by a kiosk years ago. DVC does usually have a place and/or asks whether they know someone who is a member.

Nope, not in PA. My friends bought and all I recieved was a thank you note from DVC for the referral.

From my understanding, if you are ALSO in Florida at the TIME they purchase you can receive the referral payment - but I don't know that for sure.

Due to state laws, DVC is unable to offer the referral bonus in certain states. It is based upon the state in which the referrer (current DVC member) resides.

Here is the list of states that allow referrals:

Alabama, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisianna, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missisippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Bonuses are based upon the number of successful referrals in one calendar year. The calendar year is based upon the year in which the closing occurs.

1st referral-$200 Disney Dollars
2nd referral-$350 Disney Dollars
3rd referral-$500 Disney Dollars

Several weeks after closing, DVC will notify the referrer and offer several options for the bonus: receive the funds in cash (Disney Dollars), apply to next year's Annual Dues, or apply toward an add-on purchase.

Yes, living in NY has a referral bright spot!

They have also changed the referral offers from time to time. There was a period where they were offering a framed picture with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto and Tinkerbelle pins. Your name is also engraved at the bottom on a nice plaque. It will look great in our remodelled family room (If we ever get it done!)

I referred a friend who bought SSR last year. A couple months later I received a card in the mail from DVC. I was very excited to open it, it was like Christmas morning... ...it was a very nice thank-you card.
