I just finished up my bottle of FeBreeze and I'm debating whether or not I want to get any more. I love the smell of it, but after a few minutes I just dont smell it anymore. Can you still smell yours after you've sprayed it? On the commercials which of course would never lie :rolleyes1 it seems like the smell lasts for awhile, but it doesnt here.

I spray it on the bedsheets, the carpets, just about everywhere yet the smell fades fast. Any ideas? Perhaps its just the flavor I was using. I have the yellow top which just says it is "allergen control" which could be why. I dont know why I have that one flavor, could of been a freebie from work in my Christmas package or something I dont know, just wondering what your experiences with it are.

I havent tried the Febreeze air spray yet, has anyone used it? Any opinions on it good or bad?

I use a homemade version - fabric softener, baking soda and water.

With two dogs and a smoker in the house, yes I Febreze - at least once a day.

I never considered making my own. I've had the Bounce spray and loved the smell. But since I've been buying dryer sheets I didn't think to mix it with water. It sure would save $$$.

I find the smell doesnt last when I use Febreeze either :confused3
Smells great when I first spray it but its gone quickly.

I didn't like the air spray...was too much I thought. I do use the regular febreeze occasionally.

For a nice smelling home, I'm always burning a Yankee candle ;)

My DH smokes and between him and the animals I use it. I don't use it everyday but when I know I have company coming I usually start a few days ahead of time. While you might not smell it, it is getting rid of odors. I know this because my hyper-sensitive DSis walked in the house one day and said "What did you do and why don't I smell cigarettes?" So if she can't smell it then I know its working!! :cool1:

I wouldn't expect the smell to last long. It is suppose to kill bad ordors, not add a scent.

I used to use it. But then, I started to notice a certain smell after a while. It was a disgusting smell, so I just used more febreeze. Then I tried the laundry febreeze. And I left the laundry in the washer for a day after the actual wash (got busy doing other things). When I opened up the lid of the washer, I noticed that same gross smell. I then figured out that it was the febreeze. I've stopped using it all since.

It smells nice for a few minutes, but after it sits for a while in fabrics, the smell just turns nasty. Maybe I smell it more because I'm allergic to most fragrances, so almost everything I use is fragrance free. So there are no other smells to cover up the after effects of febreeze.

I Febreeze everyday - I got into the habit when our house was on the market and it's now just part of my daily routine. While I agree the Febreeze smell doesn't lingers long it does completely eliminate the unpleasant odors and just leave the house smelling fresh. Wow, I should do their commercials :rotfl2:

So does Febreeze really get rid of yucky odors? Really?

I have a funky smell in my guestroom. I don't know what it is... it smells kind of musty, reminiscent of a freshly sharpened pencil (I know that sounds odd). DH keeps his clothes and shoes in that closet, and I sometimes wonder if that's what it is. I've tried Febreeze a few times in there but never very thoroughly.

My mom is coming to visit next month and I'd really like to get that yucky odor out of there!

I'm beginning to think maybe something crawled in the wall and died! :faint:

I'm a daily Febreze-r. With 5 dogs I run around the house spritzing everything. I don't know if it's actually doing anything, but it seems to make things smell fresh and it makes me feel better so there ya go. ;)

For serious odors, I like the Oust air spray. :thumbsup2 I tried the Renuzit Neutralizer stuff but it smelled worse than the dogs butt IMO.

I think the whole purpose of Febreeze is to eliminate odors that linger in your house, such as smoke, pets, etc. I know you're supposed to use it about everyday for a couple of weeks before you notice the odors being eliminated...it's not an air freshener along the lines of what we used to keep on the back of the toilet. It works over time to neutralize the yucky stuff.
