Ummm...no. The very LAST quality you would expect in a lawyer is fairness. Judges are supposed to be fair, lawyers are supposed to fight tooth and nail for their clients' rights!

I expect every lawyer on this board to be on this thread defending their profession...

I work in broadcasting and have worked in Real Estate. These professions, AS YOURS, have to be monitored and under strict guidelines... why? They have the ability to used in a way that can be misleading and harmful. I understand that, and have to sign my life away upon taking a job because of that. Doesn't mean everyone follows those guidelines but just because the exist doesn't make the profession "pure", just regulated, because it HAS to be.

I guess people are taking my thread wrong? It wasn't about lawyers. I've worked for a family of lawyers too. Guess that's where my expectations for them came from. Not saying if they always met those expectations or not.

I was a banker, so that one is about me & people I've worked with.

I have teachers in family.

The thread is about how you expect certain skills or traits from certain professions. Simple.

I've edited out the lawyer comment in my original post because people seem to be fixated on something I said.

I expect Fashion Designers who try out for tv show, to actually know how to make a pattern, thread a sewing machine, and even use the sewing machine.
