I do.

I expect bankers to be good with math but they certainly still can use calculators.

I expect teachers to be able to spell or at least know how to use spellcheck or look it up in a dictionary. Afterall, that's how they taught us, right?

I expect spokespeople to be able to speak clearly & get their message across.

How about you? Any others?

Edited: (deleting the lawyer one because I flaked out I guess. lol)

I expect my personal trainer to look darn good in his workout wear;)

I also prefer my chefs to be a little chunky...I figure the best cooks shouldn't be able to (or want to) resist their own food!

Lawyers to be fair. Their entire occupation depends on them Twisting the truth to better their cause.

Other then that I have no expectations of anyone anymore. I think it all comes down to the individual and not the Job they choose.

I expect ministers to be honest with money, compassionate to all, and true to their chosen partner. Nothing angers me more than seeing these so-called evangelists begging for money while they live in mansions and drives BMWs and commit adultery with women in their flock.

I expect teachers to be able to write and spell well. It irks me to no end when I get correspondence from school that is poorly worded or misspelled.

I expect food handlers to wash their hands frequently, more often after going to the bathroom, fixing their hair, blowing their nose, sweeping, cleaning off tables, or picking items off the floor.

Bankers to be good at math?

I work with both, and I don't know if those two things can be further from the truth. There's many aspects of banking that have nothing to do with math. Interpreting the law is also rarely fair, their job is to find an interpretation that suits their case/needs.

Teachers should be able to spell. I'm pretty appalled at a few posts I've seen on the DIS by people who claim to be teachers.

A lawyers job is to zealously advocate for their client -- it does not mean to lie, cheat and steal to get desired results. In fact, lawyers have a stringent ethics code that they have to abide by or they risk losing their license.

A statutory law is a statutory law, if it is against your client, no "twisting the truth" is going to change it.

Amen. As an attorney, married to an attorney, I get tired of the jabs people give the legal profession. Yes, there are bad ones out there, but there are also "bad" folks in ANY profession. And attorneys are much better at self-monitoring (i.e., reporting on another attorney's violations of the Disciplinary Rules/Code of Conduct to the State Bar Association) than any other profession I know.

I expect my dentist to have beautiful teeth :)

Lol, that reminds me of the saying, there are 2 dentists, one with beautiful teeth and one with terrible teeth. Which one do you go to? The one with bad teeth because the guy with good teeth gets his done from the other dentist.

At this stage, I almost expect my doctors to ask me to diagnose myself. You know they ask occupation? I list student, then inevitably they ask what I'm studying, so I say medicine. And when they hear that I already finished my first 2 years, they just ask me what do I think I have, and what should they do for it? Umm hello! If I knew, I wouldn't be coming, now would I?

I expect teachers to be able to read, write, and do math. That goes for teacher assistants as well. How are they supposed to help the students if they can't do the simple work the kids are doing?

Many state bars (including mine) require attorneys to report violations. Failure to report could result in disciplinary sanctions against the attorney who fails to do so. I'm not sure how many other professional licensing organizations have similar rules.

I expect for threads like this to have ulterior motivation.

I got another one... I expect bus driver's to have a license, and actually be able to drive a bus without having to stop on a dime, causing all of us standing because there were no seats to go flying.
