Do you ever vacation without children?

I really do not see any thing wrong with going away w/o kids. You should spend some alone time with hubby:love:

if you want a good marriage you HAVE to have some alone time.....yes kids are great but they grow up and get familys of their own and put them first and in the end it is your spouse who is their for you to take care of you when your old.I think it is odd to NOT go places with your spouse alone now and then...I love my kids....all 3 of them but I have to have time away for them sometimes or I would go nuts lol

Our children are 6 and 11 and we have never left them overnight. We have gone out for an evening alone and left them with a trusted babysitter or grandparents. We know the day will come when they don't want to go with US but until that happens, we want them with us. We do have our alone time. Once a week we put them to bed just a little early and then order a take out dinner for us and spend the evening together. Another reason we never left them is that my parents work midnights on the weekends and I don't trust DH's parents whose backyard is on a deep, deep lake to watch them carefully. Our DD now 6 is a handful. While she is a good child, she is very creative and needs to be occupied constantly. As a toddler, I had a hard time keeping her safe-she could scale the fence, undo dead bolt locks, and escape from just about everywhere-imagine, she was a week shy of 2-we were in church and thought she was in the nursery which has a gate across the door. As the minister was beginning the sermon, DD runs up the main aisle and tells him she needs to go potty! I could have died. Needless to say, she stayed with us in church from then on. I think it is up to each parent to do what is most comfortable for them. Someday we will have our time to vacation alone and do look forward to it.

We went on vacations all the time without our kids when they were younger. It's extremely healthy and important to do things with and without your children.

Gave us some husband/wife time.

Gave the kids some grandparent time.

I have been to WDW twice without my children and have no regrets. Probably bought them more "guilt" souvenirs than normal :lmao:

I am a single Mom now and we do lot's of family trips but I also do lot's of just ME trips. We just got back from a family cruise but in September I am going on a cruise with my two friends and no kids.
