of moving away somewhere beautiful?
I think I watch too much House Hunters International. I keep dreaming of someplace small in the Italian or French countryside ..sigh....the simple life.
After I read this thread, I saw this drinking game. Had to come back and post it.

I'd likely be dead right now had we moved to the place we'd considered. Two months ago I needed state of the art open heart surgery. Place we'd planned had very rudimentary health care. Glad we reconsidered!

Not sure I'm up for anywhere not on par as far as healthcare..
Isn't that the truth! We have gone through a tremendous year of health crises and I shudder to think how it may have turned out if we didn't live in a large metropolitan area with excellent healthcare services. When I see these people moving out of the country, so far from friends and family, I just shake my head. All I can think is "what are they gonna do if someone has a heart attack or a stroke?"

Yeah and my dh died right here in the good ole USA at age 55. so I guess that's a lousy guarantee. One thing I find so interesting about older folks here in the states is every body plans their retirement based O
My dh and I lived our early marriage life in Lisbon. wonderful experience. we made great friends and came home to visit family. I don't think I want to live full time out of the country but I'm investigating going back to Portugal or France.
A cousin of mine moved to New Zealand which I heard was beautiful, lol I'll never know because I'm not doing 24 hours on a plane![]()
