I'm a firm believer in not waiting for things to happen. If you want change, take command and change something you're unhappy about. Not saying it can be changed overnight. But take the first step... or the first two steps... then three.

Sure, all the time.
Just yesterday, DW and I talked about the possibility of me being a SAHD if she becomes a partner in her firm.![]()

Of course, I think we all do. I also think about what my life would be like if I had made different decisions. But as hard as my life has been at times, if I were to change one thing, then I wouldn't have Pete and I couldn't imagine not having that wonderful little boy in my life.Originally posted by Pin Wizard

There may be some things that you can't "change", but you can always change your "attitude" and the way you respond to those issues..

"Where your life is going" has little to do with what you do for a living. Not that work isn't important, and it does bring a sense of fulfillment if you enjoy it, but when you get near retirement age and look back at your life, I seriously doubt you will be remembering your best days at work! When you look back and realize what gave your life meaning, it will be the lives you touched and those who touched yours, the great experiences you had that made life special: long talks with friends, great vacations, backyard barbecues, hobbies, moments with your children that seemed ordinary at the time, those great family get-togethers at holidays. We spend so much of our days working, but in the big scheme of things I think it is one of the lesser components of a fulfilling and memorable life.
