Do you ever read an entire thread?

Mainly on the Controversial Forum, but also here closer to home.

If a thread has gone viral and spawned like 10 pages of long posts, I tend to read the first and last pages and space out on the rest!

It depends. I do that same thing sometimes (but mention it in my reply in case I've duplicated what someone else said). Other times I do read it all, or just avoid the thread entirely because I don't want to make the investment.

(I'm actually off the Controversial Forum right now because I needed to lessen my social media time a bit.)

If I find a thread of interest that is more than a page or two long I will either not bother to post in the that thread or skim the first few page and maybe last page and just jump in with my opinion.

Depends on the subject and the length of the thread. Generally, after 3-4 pages we aren't even discussing what the OP's question was and a few of the regulars are quibbling amongst themselves about who has the more valid opinion on some other subject..............LOL. If 5+ people have already stated a comment saying basically the same thing, I don't need to be the next to post a similar remark.

I never read the entire thread if it is a topic started years ago or has hundreds of pages. More like looking for a needle in a haystack. Likely only the most recent few pages are even relevant to the topic. I don't really care how something at Disney worked 5+ yrs ago since it likely works differently now.

On the controversial forum it is already clear where most people stand on various political topics. Talking the loudest/longest isn't going to change anyone's mind with regard to their position.

It depends. I start with page one. If I find that intriguing, I skip to the most current page. If I am still finding it intriguing I will go back and read the in between pages. I can usually tell by reading the first and last if it’s worth my time or not.

Depends on the thread/topic. If it's a long thread that has interest to me, I'll usually be in it from the beginning (or near), so I don't have to "catch up" except maybe a page or two. But, I think it's worth it to read at least the first 2-3 page and the last 2-3 pages before replying. So yea, if it's 4-6 pages long, I'm going to read the whole thread before responding.

I am here every day, and NOTHING here goes 10 pages in one day. Well, I can't speak to the Controversial Forum since I am not a member of it.
