Do you ever go outside the box?

I am a creature of habit, I usually stick with things that are safe and when I find something I like I stick with it. I am pretty predictable, which isn't always a bad thing, but sometimes can be boring. A perfect example.....for about 12 years I had the same hairstyle...I liked it, it was easy, it worked for me. I did change it for a couple of years, but then started to go back to my old ways. So I think you get the picture about my comfort zone. Anyway, sometimes I look at people and think, wow, I wish I could go outside my box and try something new, but I usually don't. Well, today I made a step in the other direction.....it may not be big for most, but for me it was a big step. I bought a new outfit that is totally not "me", it was a little clingier than I am used to and cut a little lower than I am used to but boy did it was cute and fun. I tried it on for DH and although I could tell he thought I had lost my mind, he said it looked okay. DS (9) on the other hand thought it was totally cool. I plan to wear it to a gathering I am hosting at my house in a couple of weeks, so I thought I could be a little daring in my own home.

So how about it gang, do you ever go outside your comfort zone or are you a creature of habit like me?

Good for you! I think I am very much like you. I always take the "safe" route in everything I do. But is that living life to the fullest? That's the question I've begun asking myself recently. That need to be "safe" is why I don't get out my art supplies. I can't mess it up if I never start! I love to watercolor... but I don't like being unhappy with the work I've done.

nope...Im the most boring person i know...sad huh? all i do is work and school

During the past year or so I have gone more outside my box than I ever thought I would. I am such a creature of habit. It has not been easy to try some of the new things, but most all of them I do enjoy.

Congrats to you!

I'm always going out of my comfort zone. When I got sick of my hair a few months ago, I straightened it and put neon orange streaks in it. I completely changed my wardrobe a few years ago. Went from baggy and shapeless to clingy and trendy. I love trying new things and will do almost anything once. Note that I said "almost." ;)

I get bored with routine.

I bought my first adult-life bikini two summers ago after I worked really hard to get into good enough shape to wear one. Promptly returned it two days later.

Got a cartilege ear-piercing a few years ago, and let it heal back up two weeks later.

Just last week I decided to dye my hair for the very first time, and went with a really pretty auburn red shade. Dyed it back to my original dark brown the next day.

The only thing I've ever done at all outside the box, is get a tattoo--and just something small. I still get out of the shower every day and think, "Hey! That tattoo hasn't washed off yet!"

What a rebel. :rolleyes2
