Do you ever get homesick when you are one vacation?

Yes, I do! This past January we were gone to Florida/cruising for three weeks and those last few days I was so ready to go home!! We even cut vacation shorter than we had planned, simply because I missed my kids (they are grown and on their own but live nearby), my kitty and my house! Even my job, I was ready to get back to it. I don't know what I'm going to do when DH wants to start spending 3-4 months in Florida or Arizona when we semi-retire in a couple more years or so. I know I will get so homesick!!

We just came back (2 weeks ago today ) and we stayed for 24 days but the only thing that I really missed was cuddling my 2 fur babies Sammy & Willy.

I have never been homesick while on vacation or even on long visits to Texas. Not yet, anyway

I miss our two cats. I have mousekeeping bring me two extra pillows or I couldn't sleep.

Ahhh, that is so nice that so many people miss their pets. When I get ready to leave for vacation I feel really sad and guilty about leaving my cats. But once I get out that door I am on VACATION and barely think about anything at home the entire time. If I’m at WDW I sometimes cry when it’s time to leave, but then I do start looking forward to getting home.

While part of me misses the pets part of me is happy to have a break from them too. We have never had a really long trip though, that might be different. We generally love our vacations and are really sad to leave and head for home. One funny thing last summer. We spent a week in Orlando, and when we got back home I was the first to walk in the kitchen door. I stopped for a minute and looked around and my house looked really pretty to me! It is nothing fancy, I just like the way I have it decorated. I guess I missed home more than I realized!

Me too!

I get depressed the day before we leave! But once I'm home I'm ok. I do look forward to a home cooked meal on return though. Can only take so much of that fast food.
