Do you ever feel you're being stalked on Facebook?

I hate to admit this but I feel like my Mom is stalking me on Facebook.:) Every time I join a group or become a "fan" of something or take a quiz or download an application, she does the same.

Yesterday, I was invited to join an alumni group for my old parochial school. I went to this school from 2nd to 8th grade. The admin requested we post pictures. All my pictures are in storage right now. So, I sent my Mom a message asking if she had any pictures readily available that she could send me. Before I knew it, she had joined the group and posted a ton of pictures. A lot that didn't have anything to do with this school.

The reason I was kinda reluctant to join FB in the first place was because I was worried about people getting all up in my business. I just never expected it would be my Mom.:lmao:

:rotfl: My Mom finally joined, but she's keeping a very low profile....thank goodness! Try an alias if it gets that bad...:)

Brings the phrase "too close for comfort" to mind. Could you close your account and open a new one secretly from your mom? Just tell her you're taking a break from facebook.

My father was doing very much the same. Every time I posted something I'd either get a message or he would make a comment about it. He started asking about things he didn't understand with my friends. At that point I changed my settings so he couldn't see everything. I was much happier ;)

I have 2 co-workers that stalk me. One of them I finally removed from my "friends" because she watched everything I did and commented. It was just too much. She wasn't even someone I was really good friends with. The other person I was friends with outside of work but she also comments on everything I do. She makes lots of negative posts which really gets under my skin. She has backed off recently and I am soooo glad.

Every time I go on FB and don't want an IM, I have to click "go offline" so it doesn't look like I'm on. I have one friend that as soon as they see me on they feel the need to IM me.

I don't have any stalking problems, but I do wish there was a way to have settings for individuals or groups. I have so many different people on there from various parts and times of my life - family, current friends, old friends (e.g. high school), church friends, DIS people, etc. I only have one work friend, and I hope it stays that way.

Some of the people I don't even know - they asked me because I'm on the DIS or something, and I accepted. I sometimes start to feel paranoid when I think about who all is seeing what I am doing, even if it's something like posting, "I'm sad", like I did on the day of the monorail accident. I also don't change my status a lot because I don't want to come across as a hey-everybody-look-at-me Facebook addict.

It could be because when you join a group or become a fan - Facebook puts that info on your news feed (on the right hand column) because I've had friends join various groups right after I did, but I never considered them stalking. I figured the had an interest in it since the group was just brought to their attention by my joining it.

Pretty funny stuff on this site.

Thanks! I will definitely check that out.

I may consider doing that in the future. I can't imagine it would get to the point that I would have to create another account or anything. Right now, it is just mildly annoying and creepy. I really think she does it because she is lonely. She just moved 500 miles away to take care of my 92 year old grandmother. I think she just misses me.

See, this is more of what I expected when I joined FB. I would have no problem with deleting these people as my "Friends".

You call it " stalking " we call it love....hehe:rotfl2:
So true.:lmao:

I am having a hard time figuring out the privacy settings on FB. Someone told me the other day that you could create different "lists" of people and that you could adjust the privacy settings to each "list". But for the life of me, can't figure out how to do it.
