I don't have any friends that care much for Disney. I don't have family to share it with. And sure my husband would listen to me, but really, doesn't care. Just says things like "Do what you want honey, it's for you and the kids".
When no one gets excited with me when I ran out to the sales floor bouncing around saying "180 days out!! I got my first dinner reservations!" and starting singing "hoooop dee doo...hoooop dee doo" dancing around.
When I see cute things disney like a shirt or bag and HAVE to have it. Playing Disney music in the store and having the employees say "Really, it's like the third time this cd has played" "What is this song??" "You know the words to this tiki song?"

Please tell me I'm not alone for being a "Disney Loner"

I feel the same way! I want to talk about the restaurants I'm interested in trying, or which parks I think we should do on which days, and what rides I want to make sure we do - and DH just says "uh huh"....

Yes, My Dh wants to go to Disney, but he doesn't get all excited about it ahead of time. Luckily, I have a 5 year old Dd who does!:)

I can comiserate! My dh can't believe I am worrying about restaurants already, and keeps saying I am "dragging" him there. We are going with the grandparents, and my MIL is already complaining about the sun/heat/walking!

If my family has to watch the Disney planning video one more time on family movie night, I think I might lose my life!!!
My DD(6) was practicing her writing the other day and she brought over her piece of paper to me when she was finished...she had written the following "Pop Sentry". She proudly told me that this was an awesome hotel at disney world. At least one of my kids knows the way to my heart!
The family laughs at me when I tell them about the restaurants we are going to eat at, and what days the park is showing "Wishes"...I wish that they had more interest in the planning, but then again, I would have to gove up some of the control of the vacation, and I struggle with control issues. We are heading down on 9/18 for ten days with my SIL and nephew. (plus our four kids!)

I know how you feel, I get so excited and often day dream about our trip, no one in my family shares my excitement. I just get "yeah", and "whatever you want" comments from my dh. My family shares my excitement once we are there so until them I suppose I'll spend my time :surfweb: :surfweb: here on the dis with others who understand the excitement ;)

My DH doesn't mind going to WDW but he is not nearly as excited as I am by everything. My 4 year old loves Disney as much as I do though!!

:thumbsup2 My dh and 2 ds are all Disney freaks like me...:thumbsup2
However, no one else that I know is.... As a matter of fact, when I am planning a WDW trip, I don't even tell anyone because I hear "Oh, again" or "that's a surprise" and a couple of "don't you guys like to go anywhere else".... And these people are not jealous, because they can all go on vacations but they just do not share my "love" for Disney!!!

I know what you mean I can't get enough. We went for 10 days in April 07 for My DD's 10th Birthday. Then my sister-in-law invited us to the Marriott Cypress Harbour for a week the end of June - July 07 for a week we of couse said yes after a few days in Sanibel Island. Then we went back to Sanibel for a week in Aug 07 and Universal 3 days and I had to go to Disney for a 1 day fix.

We spent a week in Dec 07 for all the Christmas festivities. We have our vacation club booked for Oct 08. We are doing two weeks in Hawaii this June so Disney was out this summer.

We'll I just book the last week in August with the free dining and I'm doing the dance. My husband asked me if I was meeting a boyfriend there. I said yes Mickey Mouse. I may have to cancel if he loses his mind. But for now its booked.

I think I'm way more into WDW then my husband. My daughters' friends always say they want to sneak in our suitcases and come with us.

I am just enjoying traveling.

I am FINALLY going to WDW for the very first time with my family in Oct., and my poor DH is probably sick to death of hearing me talk about it already! I have never been more excited to go on a trip. I have waited far too long for this trip and I am so happy that my DD6 loves to hear about it, watch the planning DVD, read the Birnbaum books, etc. with me.:wizard:

I am the exact same way, I get crazy looks from the people at work when I get excited about my ADR's or when I am weighing what resort to stay at.

Husband to Be laughed at me tonight because I saw that Jon & Kate Plus 8 on TLC is showing the episode when they go to Disney tonight. He said it was cute that I was so excited about just getting glimpes of Disney. I guess I should be happy that he still thinks it is cute.

This is the first time we are going to WDW together, I have four trips in and he has only one childhood trip. He is letting me do all the planning, "Whatever you want / I trust you / This is your thing " He has no idea what he is in for.

MY family actually thinks I have lost my mind. We went to Disney 4 times in 2007 and have 2 trips planned for 2008. In the past 10 years Disney has become my hobby, my obsession, my happy place. My family consists of my DD 21, DS20, DS15 and my DH. They certainly enjoy our Disney vacations but everytime I talk about Disney (which is everyday) they just roll their eyes and say "yea we know" But they are not going to stop me from being a huge Disney fan. I truly enjoy it and I think everyone needs something in life that makes them happy!!!:cheer2:

We are going for the first time and I have become Disney-obsessed! Dh could care less -- as long as he gets to eat some good food, that's all he cares about. My 4 y/o DDs don't know what to expect, so they are excited, but they don't know exactly why. The other family we are going with is excited to go, but NO WHERE near my excitement .... I just can't get enough of the planning, reading, being on the DIS :surfweb: ...

DH is worried about me. He wonders what I am going to do once we get home ... OH, not to worry ... there's the photopass editing, scrapbook making, and one final thing ... PLANNING OUR NEXT TRIP to see the Mouse!!!!

I am basically in the same shoes that you are! We're going in September, and this will be my 7th time, but when I told my DD's about it, they were not as enthused as I. My youngest is taking her best friend this year, so that makes it happier for her, but still not as happy as I.
Fortunately for me, a good friend of mine is going, and he's bringing his DS for the first time. They are VERY excited about it. I can't wait to share my love for Disney with them!!

That's funny- I get the same thing! Everyone usually just rolls their eyes and pretends to be interested!! I do have a few friends who enjoy seeing my excitement about Disney, but for the most part, people just put up with it!! They just don't understand...:worship:

AHHHHH! It's good to be among people who understand and share my love for Disney!!

When I tell people that I am going to Disney this year, their reaction is "AGAIN!!! Didn't you just go last year?!!!!" Of course this is said with a look of horror and confusion :confused3

I just respond "Yes, I'm going again this year and I went TWICE last year and I have been every year for the past three years and I will go again next year if I am able." At this point they just walk away shaking their heads and mumbly under their breaths :rotfl2:

My oldest DS (19) likes Disney and is just happy with going on vacation but would probably be happy in any theme park.

My youngest DS (14) is a budding Disneyholic! We watch EVERY Disney special on the Travel Channel every time it comes on (even though we have taped every epsiode and watch them often) :thumbsup2 We talk about which parks we plan to visit and which rides we will get on. I ask his opinion about which restaurants we should visit. He's adventurous, is game for anything and I think my love of Disney is starting to rub off on him. He's a great Disney buddy!!!

We are going August 12th - 20th. We will be staying at CSR for the first time and I am beyond excited. This will be our longest on site stay. Our last trips have all been commando style. I am looking forward to having a relaxing Disney vacation.

And to make things even better, I saw my favorite Disney commercial the other night - the one where the little boys says "We're too excited to sleep!" I love his little lisp!! He is the cutest thing. And I can soooooo relate.

I've got 123 more sleeps and I can't wait!!!

OMG I totally feel your pain. My family thinks Im completely insane. I could go to Disney and never come home. Before Im even done with my trip, Im planning for my next. After our last trip in September (which was our 5th time in four years) my dh told me if he NEVER went to Disney again, it would be too soon. Those words would be worse than hearing "I want a divorce!!!"!!! Im going again in May but I had to recruit my mom to go with my kids and I. I want to go back in Sept for free dining and MNSSHP and NO ONE will go with me :(. I wish my husband shared my love for Disney. :confused3

DH likes Disney but he hates my planning. I like to have someone to bounce ideas off of and no one is there. The kids don't want to know all the work involved, they just want to go.

We went for MNSSHP and MVMCP last year. I would LOVE to go back for both parties this year. I don't have any plans...yet :lmao: I'm hoping something wonderful happens pixiedust: soon and I will be able to go back.

We leave four days before Free Dining starts :headache: I'm still not over the disappoinment about that  I did get a Bounceback discount so that helps soften the blow ;)

I am totally in the same position! I am about to book a trip for NEXT April (2009). I am so excited I can't hardly stand it! Everyone in my family just looks at me! I was watching the planning DVD today and started to get teary-eyed just thinking about being there. I am GOOFY about Disney! I don't get to go that often, so I REALLY appreciate it when I do.
This will be my kids first visit. I can't wait to share it with them!!!
