Do you ever feel alone in your happines about WDW?

I think I might be the only "DH" who has posted so far! :)

DW is not into WDW nearly as much as I am....in fact, I'm heading down there in about 16 hours with DD (14)...DW is staying home.

DD and I love it...

If any of you DW's need a shoulder to cry on, I'm your man! :)

I am so happy I've found this thread, I feel the same way. We went in February and all I can think about is when can I go back. I'm so excited about tonight because of the travel channel having Disney on.

You are NOT alone
I spend hours on the DIS boards reading reviews, trip reports, hints & tips, everything, just to get my Disney fix beacause no-one in my family is as excited as me about our next WDW trip. DH wants to go & says he cannot imagine going anywhere else (thank the Lord !) but... he does not get excited probably until the night before. I've been planning & planning for months, i've made all the ADR's without any help/input from DH & have made reservations for a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness & Wishes speciality cruise which will be a suprise to DH, DD & DS. I think because we booked this trip 11 months in advance, for the kids its always seemed so far away, a bit like waiting for Christmas day! So even though its 44 days until we fly to them its still a long time.
I love hearing about how extended families go on Disney vacations together & one thing i would wish for though is for my whole family to join us, but they are just not interested & don't understand the attraction that WDW has for us.

"Do what you want honey, it's for you and the kids".

I hear that *all* of the time....things along those lines as well. My kids are very excited (what 3 and 5 year olds wouldn't be :lol ) but my DH is less than excited . He thinks that Disney is just something I'm obsessed with and that takes "his" money very quickly :lol All of my friends think I'm crazy. My family (mom/dad/grown sister) all love Disney, but this will be our first trip (DH, DS, DS and myself) to Disney alone without my family which kind of bums me out but I still CAN'T wait!

I am the Disney Addict in my family.
No one shares my enthusiam, but get this.....
Everytime one of my friends, family, co-workers, etc. is planning a trip to Disney....who do the call for advice?

:rolleyes1 .

You guessed it! ME

Interesting......they tease me about being a total Disney nerd.....but they know they need me......;)

Any other members of the Lonely Hearts Club?
Don't tell me I alone in Disland too?

The only one in my family that shares my love and joy of Disney is my 6 year old DD. She gets just as excited as I do when I talk about Disney. We already know what all we are going to do when we get there. We have places to eat that we have already planned to go to. She is my right hand planner. :lmao:

Nope, I don't feel alone because I have lots of folks here on these boards who feel just like me. I do however have a husband who will listen to me go on and on and on about changes I've made to our itinerary, ADR's and he'll watch Disney related travel shows. I just caught him in the living room watching a Dinsey DVD cuz he was excited about our upcoming trip. My little girls get excited so I can always ramble to them and my BFF who's going with us for the second year in a row calls me at work with her own count down letting me know how excited she is; so I have tons of people to share my happiness with.

T.

I am the only one in my family that is completely addicted to Disney. The kids get excited when I talk about it, but they get bored with it quickly. DH is getting better although his eyes still glaze over slightly when I get on one of my excited about Disney monologues. Sometimes you feel like you might burst you are so happy to be going back, it stinks not to have someone to talk to who is equally excited.

this is funny because my dad is totally excited, and so is my mom for the most part, but my little brother (who has never been to disney) dosnt seem to care. maybe he just dosnt realize the magic yet!

OMG, yes! I have been a Disney lover all my life and I am finally getting to go for the first time this year! (I know it's sad I've never been.) It's all I can talk about now! I have been reading guide books, history books, forums, and websites like crazy gathering information. However, DH does not share my enthusiasm in the slightest. He's looking forward to going, but not nearly as much as I am. He has actually requested that I not talk about it as much. I have calmed down a bit now that I have booked the reservation and our ADRs. He refused to look at dinner menus, so I had to pick most of the restaurants myself. He kept saying, "We aren't going for months..." and I told him about the 180 days out. He couldn't believe that. Anyway, we have no children yet and my family doesn't really want to hear me yack about Disney much, so I am basically alone in my happiness. It's very sad...

Yes, My Dh wants to go to Disney, but he doesn't get all excited about it ahead of time. Luckily, I have a 5 year old Dd who does!:)

My DH doesn't mind going to WDW but he is not nearly as excited as I am by everything. My 4 year old loves Disney as much as I do though!!

I can totally relate to you. My DBF was the one who recommended that we go to WDW, and he is no where near excited as I am. I am hoping that he gets more excited as time goes by.

Every night, I go to work, and give them the countdown of how many days I have left till I go- all but 2 of my fellow employees roll their eyes... So, of course, I make sure to tell them a few times. :rotfl:
My DDs love the parks, but hate my planning. When I ask their opinion, they usually just say they don't care, it's up to me. This can work out in my favor, though. I just tell them, "Hey, you said it was up to me!"

Some people just don't get it....:snooty:

I feel the same way except one big difference my DW doesn't get excited so I'm the one planning and planning till they want to drop I think I've worn them out already for the next trip feb 09

We've been going to WDW every year at least two - three if not more a year people say "you're going to Disney again".

I say you're going to the Jersey Shore again and they say we love it we go every year. Ah ha they get it. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I know that the price I pay for a Disney Trip is great comparted to $2,000 for a week at a house where I need to cook etc. That doesn't include the boardwalk etc.

I do love the beach but the Flordia Beaches on the gulf side or carribean. Disney is the best.

You know what everyone I know calls me:cheer2: when they plan a trip or want to know what new or going on at Disney. :cool1:

yeah i know what u mean....i mean, i'm in LOVE with the place...but my family...they like it, but i constantly talk about it....i think about it ALL the time....like EVERYTHING reminds me of disney....its sooooo weird, but good at the same time....but yeah....my family thinks i'm crazy...but i can't help it....

I have to tell you everything reminds me of Disney too! :lovestruc

Last week I was driving in the car through a really bumpy and wet area and I laughed :rotfl2: so hard because I envisioned myself on my Safari Truck at Animal Kingdom. Hey you've got to make fun sometime. I called my husband and told him and all he could do was laugh.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Recently one of my co-workers found out that I'm going to Disney in June and she said "Weren't you just there?!". She had this look on her face that couldn't believe I'm going again. That has been 8 months ago and has felt like way longer to me! Not many people can understand the wonderful happy feeling Disney can give you. It truly is our "happy place". My husband gets excited too, but not until it gets really near to time. Me, I've been dreaming about our next vacation for months now! lol

My family and friends think me and DH are both mentalists as we are in our
30s and still love everything Disney. We are told we need to grow up etc etc and isn't Disney for kids and all the rest but I just love it. Today is 100 days till Disney and when I announced this got the "oh she's off again" face. People just don't understand :confused3

If I could teach a qualification in Disney studies my students would all be As and the field trips would be awesome!

Yeah...everyone is pretty much annoyed with me already! :lmao: I honestly don't understand why everyone is not crazy about Disney like me. :confused3

Just wait until we are less than 100 days away! I may end up without any friends before this tripp arrived. ;)
