For some reason it always seems like too much trouble. I'd almost always rather buy from a reputable dealer like Amazon, Barnes and Norble, Borders or even Best Buy then trust a stranger to mail me something I ordered. I like to not have to worry about when/if I'm going to get something I paid for.

I'm thinking of doing it. I have a whole bedroom full of stuff that I need to get rid of to make room for baby, but there are some big ticket items (like my bowflex) that I really don't want to deal with shipping for. I could probably make some good money if I ebay'd everything in that room.

I've bought some things off Ebay but can't be bothered trying to sell.

The best Ebay store is Disney Deals... kind of a clearance outlet for WDW and Disneyland. I have to look there every day at least to see what's new.

Yep, constantly! Its amazing what you can find on ebay. My best buy has been a part for my trailblazer. According to every place we called the part was $169 dollars.....guess how much I bought it for on ebay? .99 cents!!!!!! It came in and was perfect!

I ebay. I have found a lot of cool stuff on there. Recently bought a mirror for our bathroom. There is a ton of Disney stuff on there.

The only thing you need to make sure of is what your budget is for certain items.

I sell and sometimes buy on ebay.

As a seller I say be honest with your descriptions and have a pic plus always protect yourself, like if you use PayPal send only to confirmed addresses and be sure to get everything sent mailed with delivery confirmation. There are scammers and crazies out there.

As a buyer I always have to watch out for insane shipping and handling costs. Sometimes it's better to buy new.

You can still eBay them, just put local pick up up only in your description.

Same here, Stink. SO has done it for years but I can't bring myself to do it.

I buy mostly video games and DVD's on eBay. Games are $50 on release and I can normally get them for $40 shipped on day one, plus no sales tax. For games that aren't new release, I save even more money. Sometimes the stores are still charging $50 and I can get them for less than half that on eBay, including shipping charges. DVD's are less than the store too.

I've bought other things too, but I don't purchase clothing. Without the luxury of a dressing room, it's a waste of money for us. I did give it a try at one point, but I never liked what we got, or it didn't fit right. I simply pass on all that now. I know a lot of sellers go to clearance sales in their area and deals are out there, but I'd rather pay a little more and get what I KNOW will fit.

I've been on EBay since 1996. I'm a collector, and I've bought many, many items on Ebay. I now sell more than I buy, since I'm downsizing, but it's still one of my sources anytime I need an item. For instance, my DD needed a graphing calculator for high school algebra. I checked Amazon for review and prices, then started watching auctions on Ebay. In the meantime, Target put the one I wanted on sale, the price was competitive, so I went and picked it up there. When I buy from Ebay, though, I am careful. First I look for price and reserves, then I check feedback. And I READ their feedback, I don't just look at the numbers. Sometimes the negs they have received or given can tell you a lot. Next I check shipping amount, and if they accept Paypal. I will bid a little higher if everything is excellent, as will most people. You just have to be careful not to pay more through bidding than you would pay somewhere else!

Just a note, Amazon offers a lot of different sources for items like this, private sellers. Check their ratings too, it's no different from buying on Ebay, as far as I can tell.

I buy a lot but I've never sold anything. I saved a ton of money on wedding stuff thanks to Ebay! I've also bought tons of Disney books for my classes.
