If so, do you buy or do you sell? What kinds of things do you look for or sell?

I have been a member for a few years now and have only sold a couple of things, but I have bought a lot and lately I seem to be on a buying spree. My latest bargain was for hairspray, I got three bottles of my favorite brand (which retails for $12.95 a bottle) for $25 including shipping. I have shopped for video games for DS, collectibles, ornaments, books and toys amongst other things and was just curious what everyone else usually shops for. I have only had one bad experience, but I eventually got my merchandise and the seller is no longer a registered user. My only complaint are the sellers who have huge feedback ratings and they can't take the time to give the little guy like me feedback so I can build my profile. This has happened a few times and it drives me nuts.

I got hooked on ebay over the summer (health and beauty products for me too!) i've just been a buyer, and have never had a bad experience knock on wood. The only bad thing is it's very easy to become addicted to.....

Oh yeah...I ebay...I BUY. Would like to sell at some point, but I have to take the time to read how.

I've had basically good esperiences. Last February, I bought two Pottery Barn Pocket Headboards...one full size, one twin size...from two different people. In July, when I redid my girls' room and opened the packages, they were BOTH full size. Oh well...we managed.

As far as feedback...I usually get feedback immediately, because for the most part, I pay immediately with PayPal. If I receive the item and haven't gotten feedback, I usually leave my feedback for the seller, then email the seller thanking them and telling them I left them positive feedback and look forward to receiving the same from them. So far, I've always gotten feedback, all positive. (About 20 auctions.)

I feel nekkid if my "Items I'm Watching" in My Ebay is empty. ;)

Maryann, I always pay with Paypal too, but I have a handful of people even after I have emailed my pleasure and mention about the feedback still not leave any. A perfect example are two auctions I won and paid for the minute the item closed (the end of August), I have received my items, emailed my thanks and still haven't received feedback, just drives me nuts. I agree with you on the "Items I am Watching", if it is empty, just means I have to shop some more.

kteacher, it definitely is addicting, more so now that I don't work.

Well, THAT stinks! I'd be persistent...can't hurt, can it?

I just won my 2nd item on ebay. Its sesame street trading cards. For 9.50 I've got 3 complete set of cards. I'm hoping I can hold them back for Johns and Dannys Christmas presents. They love Sesame Street and thier brothers trading cards so these should be a big hit with them.

But only to buy, and even then I've only bought about 23-24 items but have been pleased with almost everything I bought. I usually buy CD's and videos, but got a Bill Elliott car-shaped night light once, and some books too. A teacup and saucer I bought once was the item I was disappointed with, it wasn't "exactly as pictured" when I bid/won and I did complain to the seller but never got a response. It wasn't that big of a deal, but the flowers were supposed to be lilacs, not violets....*shrugs shoulders*...oh well....I've thought about selling, but would take too much time away from my eBay surfing and from the DIS boards!!! :Pinkbounc

I buy and browse....mostly Disney for my collections (beanies and Sleeping Beauty fairies).

I go in phases......haven't even looked in awhile now.
Last spurt was VHS tapes, ......I was bored, what can I say.
I've never had a bad experience.

DH does it way more than I do. He has only had a couple of slow shipments and one problem.
His major purchases are old books.

I e-bay too...mostly in spurts. I just bought a bunch of Mary Kay eyeshadows in a color that has been discontinued....it was my all time fav! I was so excited to find them on e-bay I bid on all auctions and won all but 1! I even contacted the first winning seller and asked if she had any others...she did and I bought those too!

I am currently looking for tap shoes for a dance recital this fall. I hate the thought of having to shell out big $$$ for one recital.

As soon as we get a digital camera or scanner, I'll start sellin'.

I buy more than I sell, but I have done both. I have sold books, concert tickets, and other things that I no longer want or can't keep on eBay. When I look to buy, I look for CDs, DVDs, concert tickets, and sometimes other specific things.

Let's say it's my newest addiction. :( I have to keep track of the items and everything and, with the emails they send, it can get confusing (for me!). So far, I've had great success with buying, only one slight problem but, since I hadn't paid anything, I didn't lose anything. Got Disney Princess bedding, wall border and wall stick-ups for DD's room and, a Princess backpack and, a used Beauty & the Beast video. Got an X-box game for DH the other day. A few smaller Disney items but, I found Yankee Candle on ebay and, now I'm a goner for sure!!

You are supposed to say I got a X-box game for kids..:p
Yankee Candle??..:bounce: :bounce:

I love Ebay in spurts. Bidding for old toys is my favorite Ebay hobby. Unfortunately, right now I am in a negative mood towards Ebay - I keep losing every auction! :( No matter what I bid, someone else always win it for 50 cents more than my high proxy bid (with that other person placing a last second bid). But that's the way the game is played. Gets very depressing after awhile, since I am bidding way high in the first place. (I have a similar vent about this on the debate board!)

I should learn to be a seller, since I can't believe some of the prices I seen recently! But for now, I am taking a break from Ebay!

Well shep, kids' games are not really available with Xbox (the drawback) :( BUT YES, 4 pages of YC's!! Don't you dare outbid me!! ;) j/k :p

I ebay... And now I DIS (see the new DIS auction site) too.... I buy and sell mostly Disneyana. I have ventured in to a few other areas to snoop but not buy....

I used to "ebay", but never again. I got taken for $1500 on two items, so I am steering clear of Ebay now! They say they stand behind their sellers and protect their buyers, but they don't really.
