Do you eat your snack cakes frozen?

There was a Hostess bakery in my town growing up and they had a store that sold stuff cheap. My mom was one never to pass up a bargain and would buy in bulk putting it all in the freezer.

Growing up I would pull a Twinkie out of the freezer and eat it, never waiting for it to thaw.

Later when I was on my own I continued the tradition of keeping snack cakes in the freezer because I found I actually preferred the texture of them frozen vs room temp.

While prepping for our thankfully dud of an ice storm my wife bought some pop tarts to have on hand. While putting them away I noticed they actually have directions for how to enjoy a pop tart direct from the freezer!

For Freezer
1. Put pouch in freezer
2. Wait 20 minutes
3. Enjoy that frosty goodness

Anyone else like a good frozen snack cake?

Honestly, it’s been a long time since I’ve had any snack cakes type treats at home, but I’m sure I would enjoy them frozen as well as at room temp

I haven't eaten those snack cakes since I was about 12 (we also used to have the Hostess store).

That said, I do like to freeze my chocolate candy and I like to freeze Mint Milanos.

we also had a hostess outlet near our home growing up. I was fond of eating the snack pies from the freezer-very cooling on a hot summer day.

We did the same growing up. My parents would make a monthly trip to the local Hostess bakery to stock up on bread and snacks. Always went into the deep freeze. We rarely buy them these days, so we eat them at room temp, but slightly frozen is fine by me.

A Swiss cake role is waaayyy better Frozen, but that's the only one I've tried that way.

I love Little Debbies snack cakes. I have never eaten a frozen one, but imagine they would be just as delicious as the non frozen ones. I will give it a try this summer:)

Huh. I don't know any adults who eat snack cakes. Last time I had one, maybe age 12? Never had them frozen.

Same. Honestly not sure that I ever had them as a kid ... unless you count the little debbie oatmeal cream pie? I think I had those at a friends' house a couple of times. But never the twinkies or cake roll things.

We don't buy snack cakes, but I see the appeal of frozen treats. I like frozen cookies. I freeze them so I won't eat them all and save some for later, but it never works because it turns out I like them frozen!

I saw something online recently about Little Debbie selling ice cream sandwich style snack cakes, so clearly frozen has appeal!
