Do you drink the milk after eating your cereal?

I just read this to my DH and he wants to know if I have 2 user names LOL . I told him I hate the way the milk is tainted after the cereal has floated in it .
Not only will he drink the milk from his bowl but he will drink it from MINE super ewwww

No. I use the milk as a way to get the cereal wet. I dump it after I'm done. I have not had a glass of milk in over 30 years.

I have not had a glass of milk since before I started kindergarten! I clearly remember it because my first day of kindergarten they made me drink one of those little containers of milk that had been left out in the hall for snack with all the other kids- I went home crying tghat I was never going back there again because they made me drink that milk. My mom had to write a note saying I didn't have to drink it! I wasn't offered any type of drink though so I didn't ge tanything to drink while in school....now you can get a bottle of water instead of the milk if you choose to- way healthier than milk anyway!

It only take 5 minutes to eat a bowl of cereal, so I'm not sure how everyone is winding up with warm milk... Anyway, yes, I drink it. I love milk!

5 minutes???? Do you inhale it??? I could never woof down a bowl of cereal in 5 minutes!

Seriously? You think it takes more than 5 minutes to eat a bowl of cereal? :confused3 What size bowl are you thinking of - a mixer bowl? I don't know anyone that takes more than 5 minutes to eat a bowl of cereal - and I know some seriously slow eaters - LOL..:rotfl:

nope, i'm one of those people who are eyeballing the exact amount of milk in my cereal so that I don't end up with extra milk. Yuck, extra milk is non-drinkable. It has little bits floating in it. Gag!!!

However just to set the record straight. I love milk, drink a couple of glasses a day, just can't drink it with 'bits' in it. Textured milk is not attractive.

I do the same thing. I only pour out as much as I need. I add about 1-2 tablespoons for my cats if one is around.

I hate textured milk as much as I hate textured milkshakes... I cannot drink the ones with real fruit in them. You can't imagine how hard it is to find a fast food place that doesn't use real strawberries (or some chunky syrup) for their milkshakes.

I'm a very slow eater but 5 minutes is a LONG time to eat a bowl of cereal. 5 minutes is a long time. I'd say, if you're only eating the bowl of cereal, it takes most people 2-4 minutes to eat a bowl.

 I had to ask - because ironically I was just eating a bowl of cereal - at the same time that I was DISing - and it still didn't take me 5 minutes.. And yes, I drank the milk!! :thumbsup2

ditto!!

Never. Yuck.

I like milk to be debris free and ice cold. My cats usually finish the cereal milk off for me.

My DH has to split his cereal milk between two of the cats and the dog. Out youngest little girl cat prefers cereal milk to plain milk.

I myself don't have milk on my cereal.

Eww! Can't drink the milk with cereal bits in it. Makes me sick to think about it.

OK I just had breakfast and it was 15 minutes to eat a bowl of cereal. I sit down with the newspaper, a bowl of cereal and juice and take a spoonful, put it down, read the paper, take another spoonful etc....way more than 5 minutes.

I just ate my cereal for breakfast...3 minutes, while watching the today show.

Were I to take 15 , the cereal would be a mushy mess by the last spoonfull.

Do you drink the juice in between your bites of cereal? If so, I could see where that might slow you down - but still not to 15 minutes.. Yikes!
Maybe it's because you're also stopping to read the paper..:)

Or - do you use the "chew rule"? DD's MIL read somewhere that you're supposed to chew every bite of food 20 times before you swallow it - and that's exactly what she does - no matter what she's eating.. (She's not a cereal eater though..LOL..) Trust me - you don't want to "grab a bite to eat" with her unless you have 2 or 3 hours to spare while she chews her grilled cheese sandwich (no sides, chips, or pickles) and drinks her small iced tea..:eek::eek:

Depends on the cereal. If it's Raisin Bran, no way, if I'm pretending I'm a kid again with my kids and have Cocoa Puffs or Reese's cereal, I totally drink that milk!:thumbsup2
