A poll inspired by the what-age-to-drink-coffee thread, but also just out of curiosity.

I fall into the it tastes horrible camp. Yuck to anything even coffee flavored. I really think coffee must taste different to different tongues.

My husband needs it every day, which is fine. Different strokes for different folks. I need a bit if chocolate every day . He's grouchy and doesn't fully wake up before he has it, grinds his own beans right before he makes it at home, loves going to Starbucks, etc. It's sweet to me to watch him mix up his brew with just the right amount of Sugar in the Raw, creamer, etc. He enjoys the whole process.

I've recently changed from 2-3 cups a day to 1-2 cups most days (but not every day anymore). I prefer espresso to coffee. I have a Starbucks 2 miles away I go to several times a week, but I guess I might need a home espresso machine!

Love the taste of coffee! Drink four to six cups a day, black.

Have tried it once and could ever figure out what the attraction was. I always tell people when they ask if I want a cup of coffee that I am not into drugs! :lmao:

you didn't have a choice for me..lol..I am in my 50's..and have NEVER had so much as a sip of coffee..I don't even care for the smell..everyone always told me that coffee tastes different wherever you go..so I guess I never had the urge to find out who made it well..and who didn't.lol

NO nope, never liked it ever. I remember being younger in my 20's (in my 50's now) and I just hated it and my Mom said to me, "one day you will acquire a taste for coffee" … nope, YUCK. :sad2:

BUT now TEA … oh, now that is MY addiction. Any HOT tea, any flavor, decaf or not, herbal or not. And do not put anything in my tea!!!! I went to London on vacation, now that was the most important souvenir I brought back; teas from London!!! YUMMY!!! :yay: OK, and I hate Ice Tea … ugh. :headache:

I tried to like coffee- my parents both drink it, and my DH is addicted (and is turning our 12 yo DD into a coffee lover, too). I just can't develop a taste for it in any way, shape, or form. Plain, iced, in frappucinos, in ice cream, candy, desserts, you name it- I hate it.

I also hate semisweet/dark chocolate, beer, and any other bitter-tasting food or drink. I think my bitter-receptor taste buds work overtime, because I am disgusted by anything that has a bitter taste to it (which coffee definitely does).

Yes everyday. I love it. I only have time for one cup most days.

I didn't really start drinking coffee till 1997 when I got married. And then I was only drinking it during colder days. Now it seems I like to drink it all year haha. I do try and mix it up and not drink coffee everyday. Will drink hot tea as well. I only like Paul Newmans coffee as it doesn't seem as bitter or acidic to me.

I'm in the no, horrible taste camp. I can't really see drinking anything hot. It seems to me that it defeats the purpose of drinking something. Maybe I'm just weird. My wife drinks it constantly. She can't live without it.

Hey, this is my first post on the Community Board after just lurking for a long time!:cool1:

I don't drink it, I have an IV drip! :)

Seriously I have 2-3 cups every morning, both for the flavor and the caffine. The cost isn't too bad, I buy mine at Trader Joe's, it's $7 a can for the kind I buy and a can lasts me two weeks. I only go to Starbucks and get a mocha as a special treat maybe 3-4 times a year.

I voted every day, because I drink it just about every day. I like how it is nice and hot.

I have maybe 5 cups of coffee a year.... I don't really care for the taste.

I drink it every morning, but mainly because it tastes better than anything else to me. I didn't start drinking coffee until my early 30's. It was after I found that I liked the taste of dark beers. I suddenly began to like coffee and dark chocolate soon after. I guess my taste buds just changed when I reached that age. I would not touch any of the three when I was younger. I still don't care for coffee after morning. :confused3

I'm addicted to caffeine. For awhile, I was able to kick the addiction while passing a kidney stone. But I fell back into it. But I love the lighter roasts and flavored, but not the super dark roasts.

I love coffee and usually drink 2 cups a day. I started drinking it when I was a kid, my mom would put a little coffee in my milk. Over a period of time the portion of milk got smaller and the coffee larger. I now drink it black and enjoy it everyday.:)
