Do you dress your princesses up?

Absolutely do it! If you think about how many times your girls will be interested in dressing up while at Disney, you will realize how fleeting this phase of childhood is, so enjoy it, even if it is a bit of a hassle. You can easily make a comfy, affordable "costume" by pairing a princess t-shirt w/a fluffy tulle skirt. Your son may get a kick out of a nice skull and crossbones t-shirt!

You also may have luck finding reasonable priced costumes on Craigslist or a local childrens resale shop --- I am also planning a trip soon and so get that it costs so much just to prepare to get there!!!!

Any ideas for boys? My DD is a girly girl, wears only dresses and loves princesses (although she does NOT want makeup or goop in her hair, so no BBB for us!). She will be five when we go to DW and she would adore wearing a princess dress one day. I can sew her one, and I can make it comfortable and practical for the park and still recognizably Disney Princess and her dream come true....but then there's her little brother.

DS will be freshly 3 when we go. He is a boy's boy most of the time, into trucks and cars and monsters and bugs, but he adores his sister and thinks she hung the moon and wants to do whatever she is doing. He loves princesses and cannot wait to have breakfast with Cinderella. He says he wants to be Briar Rose or Snow White for Halloween. I am not comfortable walking around MK all day with a cross-dressed toddler. I am thinking I may have to skip princess dress-up in the parks for my DD because there is nothing comparable for my DS and it's not fair to put him in a t-shirt and then have the whole park bowing to her and singing her songs, especially since he is the ham of the family.

What about a pirate costume for him? Lots of little boys dress up as pirates at Disney World.

Our DD7 has been to WDW 12 trips, we are season passholders from NY, she wears customs and gowns all day, every day and loves every minute of it! Dont miss out on the fun!

I do carry a swimsuit and a shortset in my backpack every day but she never wants out of the gowns, and yes we do go in the summer months as well.
She has changed into her swimsuit and danced in the water jets and the gotten back into her gowns afterwards. She loves the attention!:rolleyes1;)

My DS has been Prince Charming, Snow Prince, Prince Philip and a generic knight. He LOVES the attention he gets from the ladies. We'd just go with it if he decided to be a princess, though. Definitely easier to find those costumes. ;)

We're going to WDW in May & DD is totally into princesses, with Belle being her favorite. I wasn't going to go "all out" with getting all the princess attire, but I knew that DD will love to be dressed like her favorite princess, so I started looking for an inex*****ve (I'm talking 20 bucks or under. $40 for a dress doesn't really seem inexpensive to me) dress. I got LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY:laughing: and found a Belle dress at Once Upon a Child (kids second hand store) for $10! It's alittle big on her, but once I get a tank on underneath it it should fit a bit better. I only plan on her wearing it for breakfast at Akerhaus and certainly if she wants to wear it longer she can, but I don't really expect she'll want to wear it all day.

We do have a BBB appointment on our MK day and I do plan on having her dressed up for that, but again, I think that after a short while she'll be tired of it and be ready for comfy clothes. I don't feel bad spending $10 on a dress she may only wear for a day or a few hours....nor will I feel bad stuffing that bad boy into my bag when she's done wearing it.

Now, as for accessories, we'll have to see about that. I know at BBB she'll get some with her hairstyle and I may let her get a pair of sparkly shoes or something, but we tend to loose lots of little accessories, so I'd really prefer some pretty hair things or a crown rather than bracelets and necklaces. Somehow I can just see a bracelet flying off during Dumbo & DD having a freaking meltdown over this little sparkly thing. So not worth it.
