I find that i spend alot of time planning. I mean alot of time, as do many of you I ma sure!
However, when I get to WDW or whereever, all of those plans sort go by the wayside.
When I am on vaca I like to go with the flow. I plan and plan and bring all of my planning info, but I do not always stick to the plan. soem things I do, others i fugure can wait for next time if it doesn' fit in to our schedule. If it was just me-I bet my planning would be a liitle more in tune w/ what I actually do. But w/ 5 of us, well you know how that goes!

hi: try it with 22 people! I thought my ddil did an outstanding job last month. It does get crazy even with smaller groups; we do try to stick to about 75% of our original plans (basically only dining ressies and a couple of "must-do"s).

This is why I love DVC. We no longer try to plan everything out to the minute. If we miss something this trip, we'll hit it next time. We wake up in the morning and decide which park we will go to. Much more relaxing this way.

I tend to plan the meals with ADRs, but everything else is decided when we are there. Sometimes we makes decisions based on where we are eating, like going to Epcot the day we eat at Le Cellier, or if we have tickets for the MNSSHP we may take it easy during that day and just hang out by the pool. Trying to stick to a set schedule sounds too much like work to me .

I've made planning/researching our trips a hobby. To me it's great to be armed with as much info as possible without taking the vacation out of the vacation. My family has found that we really don't like having to plan around daytime ADR's, so we don't do them anymore. We just choose our park and go-- hopefully, making smart decisions based on all my Disney knowlege! As reported on another thread, I am proud to be a Disney Dork.

I feel like I am armed and ready when we go! I have all of the info-IF we choose to access it. I come up "Well wec ould do this.." or "Did you that we could try this..next time" Research-plant seeds when we are there!

LOL! Just about every trip. But to be honest, most of my planning falls under the heading of "stuff we'd really REALLY like to do - if we get around to it." Mostly, I get air and park tickets (or AP), rent a car, reserve the villa and make a couple of ADRs. Past that, it's "We'll decide later." Works for us!

We stick to my plans and we add more to it once we get there. I think DH is getting frustrated with me. He had to take away my Palm several times on our last trip. It's fun to plan even if you don't use the plans at all.

We (and by 'we' I mean li'l old me) used to be quite commando, but that's one of the things that's changed since we bought into DVC. Sure, I'll make a spreadsheet of park hours & shows so that we don't miss the one night Spectro is showing or an EMH, but that's about it. We don't do ADRs (we don't really get that much out of Disney's TS restaurants ::heresy:: ) but we love the 'play it by ear' nature of our trips. I confess, having APs makes this much easier, as we can pick and choose our parks and how long we stay in each one.

I have a friend who carries a clipboard around with schedules, plans, etc.!

We don't plan anything anymore. We just "wing-it". We do make PS arrangements for the places we want to eat. Since we bought AP's we just bop in and out of whichever park we feel like it. Sometimes we only go into the park because we are having dinner there. We have found a great sense of freedom since we got our AP's.

I totally understand those that use park hoppers though! We did that for years and if we were going to use up a day on our passes, we wanted to get our money out of the day.
