So I'm trying to plan our next trip...park days/ADR's/etc., and am wondering what it will be like this time around with our then 15-month-old?? Do you think we could still do morning EMH or should I skip the parks that day? Any advice? thanks!

I think it really depends on your little one. I wouldn't do commando style with my kids because I know how they are. ;) Someday, maybe, but DD is 3 and DS is 17 months, and they need sleep and not to get too crazy. LOL I know a lot of people do EMH and commando with their kids, and if it works, I say go for it. But I know that mine would get too overwhelmed and crabby. I would rather miss out on some things and avoid meltdowns when possible. Hope you have a great trip! :goodvibes

When our boys were that age, they napped a lot in the parks while riding in the stroller. Once they got a little older, we had to slow down for them...

I used to tour commando style when my kids were younger and could both share a stroller. I think one trip when my DD was 18 months she slept nearly thw whole trip! Even on rides:) It was a breeze. Now my kids are 5 and 9 and it is way harder to go at a fast pace!

Ah, my kids aren't stroller sleepers. More power to you if yours are and can make it all day! :thumbsup2

Mine aren't stroller sleepers either. They just get crabby and throw tantrums.
We tend to not do EMH in the mornings as we are on CST and getting up an extra hour early doesn't work well for us. We try to get to rope drop at the park that had EMH the night before. We always head back to the room for a nap or pool. We will often head back to the parks after dinner depending on their mood. I will say that with our 14m old last month, it was tougher. She doesn't last long at night, and we would often have to leave the parks by 7 or 8 since she was ready for bed. That's just us, as we have seen many at the parks with their small kids sleeping in their strollers.

We were able to do commando, but that's just because of how DD is. She just kind of rolls with it, and passes out in the stroller when she wants to. She was never really a big napper to begin with, so that was definitely in our favor.

We took DD when she was 19 months and did commando, staying out pretty late, and she did fine. The trade off was that we did not even make RD any morning. We got to the parks by 10 but having her stay up late AND get up early just seemed like it would be asking for trouble. DD is a super laid back, sleep in the stroller when she's tired type of kid but I didn't want to chance pushing her and making us all miserable.

We never made it to rope drop either! I don't really feel we missed out though, we'll do it eventually!

We took our 20 month old in September, and we did NOt do commando style. We were at rope drop most mornings because our youngest is an early riser. We ate an early lunch every day and headed back to the room for a nap. We headed back to the park in the late afternoon and stayed until we felt the boys had had enough. It worked great for us, but we only had one ADR a day. We ate CS for everything else or went off property to get something as we had our car. I wouldn't go overboard with ADRs as a 17 month old usually had no patience for waiting, and wait you will. We also took one day off in the middle of our trip to play in pool and just relax. That was a great day for us all.

Hope you have a wonderful trip.

My twins are 15 months old, and we could NOT do commando style. They are early risers, so we'd for sure make it to rope drop, but if they're late for their mid-day nap by even 20 minutes, all you know what breaks loose. And I'm too afraid of experiencing that, so I actually don't know if they'd sleep in their stroller!

When we went to WDW at 11.5 months, they would nap in our Ergo carriers. I'm not sue they would now.

I think every kid is different and you'll just have to roll with what they throw at you!

we don't. when the kid wakes up that is when we get up. Some days it is early and some days it is not, but I figure letting her get as much sleep as possible in such an overstimulating place as WDW is really for the best. But then again, we own DVC and know we'll be back every year.

We do commando-rope drop to fireworks nearly every day. My son was 2 when we went but still took naps. We tried going back to the room mid-day and found him to be more crabby and it was a fight to get him to take a planned nap. If we just let him fall asleep in his stroller it worked alot better.

As regards to morning EMH, if your baby wakes up early, might as well get to the park early to start your day. You can get a lot done in the morning before the crowds come. As for commando, I was able to do commando with a 3 year old and 13 month old. DS slept in the stroller when he was tired, and DD3 loved all the rides, but it depends. You definitely need to do breaks throughout the day and week. If your kids are cranky, have a snack, go back to the resort, etc

My DD's first trip was at 19 months, so a little older than yours. We got to the parks before opening and stayed almost till close. She napped in the stroller and wasn't a little "diva" yet at that point. This past trip, at a few months shy of 3, was entirely different. We slept in and didn't stay until closing. If you have a stroller napper, I think you will be fine!

We are the same way, we learned after our 1st trip that if she is sleeping let her sleep. We do not make the rope drops but that is no big deal for us and we did try going back for naps but quickly found out that made matters worse. She had no problems falling asleep in the stroller and we would use that time to sit and relax or do some shopping, luckily our 2nd DD is also a stroller sleeper:love:

Your post (Blessed With Triplets) inspired me to start a triplets thread on the Disney for Families board -
God bless you for doing Disney with your 6 year olds and the little princess! We didn't get to the World until they were older - what a blast!!:dance3:
Do you also get comments about "how did you dare to have another one"? Pu-leeese!
