Do you decorate your room if you stay at WDW during the holidays? Just curious. :)

We are going to WDW for Christmas for the first time this year. Its a 9 night stay with 2 kids. There is no way Im going to lug Christmas decorations with all our other luggage on the plane and spend precious Disney time decorating, LOL! I think we will see enough decorations around to not have to worry about our 1 little room.
I have to say Im impressed by the stories I hear of people who do it, but its not for me. Ill do it at home and Santa will leave the presents under the tree for when we get home.

We decorated twice for birthdays! I hung a "birthday banner" and sprinkled some "pixie dust" at the door for my sons 4th birthday...and just put up a sign for my DD's 15th!

It was LOTS of fun. everyone down the hall would wish us a Happy birthday all week long.

Yep, we love to decorate! I send a box down before our trip (we have special ornaments for our tree there), and we buy a skinny 5ft. tree that Target sells for $20 and bring that with us. We leave the tree there. We also put lights on the balcony. We had to make a run to Walgreens while there and my kids were trying to buy more decorations!!

My 2 oldest are getting so busy and I don't know how long we will be able to keep this trip up so I am gonna enjoy it all I can for now:D ..............Who plans these Christmas sports tournaments anyway??

Yup! We drive so we bring a samll tree and lights for the windows. Its especially nice at OKW to decorate your porches! We also being those british Poppers with the treats in them and the paper crowns..lots of fun!

I think if I were actually at WDW for Christmas I'd have to bring a tree....or go out to Wal Mart and get one or something! Or get a small potted tree...

I'm just a Christmas tree person...and I guess I'd bring our stockings.

That said, we stayed in Dec. and didn't do any decorating....but if I were actually there for Christmas Eve/Christmas I'd definitely feel compelled to have a tree. Otherwise I don't think I'd do anything that took time out of my vacation.

Yes!

We decorated our WL room last December.

I ordered Disney stockings with our names monogrammed from the Disney Store and brought those with us. We hung them on the chairs and each day DH would surprise me with a little gift in the stocking. That was so cool.:D

We also ordered one of the Christmas floral arrangements from the Disney Florist.

And we brought a little pillow from home saying "All Hearts Come Home For Christmas."

Since we flew down to Orlando from Omaha we did not have room in our suitcases for much decorations. The stockings and small Chrismas pillow packed well. I felt like there was enough decorated Christmas trees in the WL so I did not feel the need to go to Wal Mart to purchase one for the room when we got there. I may rethink this this year though.

It was a great way to "Share the Joy."

I really love the idea with the ingraved stockings and x-mas floral bouquet. If I were there for x-mas, I would probably have one of those cheap x-mas trees that you can purchase that has lights and a few ornaments. Heck, I have several trees in my house at x-mas so I can't imagine not having a very small one in my room there.

For those who want to see more x-mas lights at WDW, take a trip one night to Fort Wilderness. We went for 10 nights right after Thanksgiving and into first half of December. We decided to do the HDD revue show (9:30 p.m.) and parked in Fort Wilderness' parking lot. We then took the bus to where you get off for the show. We passed so many snowbirds campers and they all had x-mas decorations. It was so cute. Some of these campers had their full gear of x-mas decorations (I am talking about 20/40 plastic type lawn ornaments shrewn around their campsites with tons of lights. It was something to see how so many (like me) love the x-mas decorations. It made us wonder how they managed to get them there (it would take all of the extra room in some of the small campers) and what do they do with them after the new year if they are staying for several months at a time. Those snowbirds are truly packing experts.

Being AP Holders, my husband and I visit WDW several times every year, but we had never been during the actual Christmas holiday--until this past year--when much to my dismay (I hated leaving my family at home) we were at at the 'World' from December 21st until Jan. 3rd. We always rent a car and on the night of the 22nd, we headed to Walmart purchased a small table top tree, an artifical wreath, garland, a package of gold and silver glitter bows for the tree and lots of strings of mini lights--all for 60 to 70% off the original price. (My husband also surprised me each day before Christmas with an Disney Ornament as a rememberance of the trip). We have a portable DVD player (for our flight!!) so back at the room we spent an hour or more watching 'Its a Wonderful Life' and decorating!! I still hated being away from home at Christmas, but the decorations helped make the holiday a little more special.

We will be in WDW from Dec 20 Until Jan 4 this coming Christmas...Last year I went to Target after Christmas and purchased a 4ft tree on sale $12..when packing up our onaments from last year we separated non breakable that we'd like to have with us and packed them in a separate box along with lights for the tree and the balcony....So, I'm mailing down presents and tree for our christmas in the world this year.....Can't wait....

We typically have a parking lot view from the BWV so if you see lights on a balcony look for the badshoe flag also and you'll know that is us...:D :D :D :D

Our two children are grown and gone now, but we did spend several Christmas' at WDW when they were growing up. It is something they will never forget! We always drive down, so we would bring a small table top tree and let the kids decorate it with ornaments and lights. We had a big van back then and DH & I would hide some of their gifts to slip under the tree for Christmas morning. (This was before they got to the snooping age!) But the biggest surprise was the stocking that was left hanging on our resort room door by Mickey!;) You would have thought it was a million dollars!

At OKW, DVC members always decorate for Christmas. You will see lights on the balconies and in windows all over the resort. We brought lights for the balcony last year. We also brought a 4' artificial tree with us that we decorated with our Disney ornaments. We were at WDW from 12/19 until 12/28, so we didn't put up a tree at home.

We also sent a tree, decs and presents to the Swan early. They were waiting for us when we arrived Dec. 24. My 'kids', college age, still enjoy the 'family stuff' and I am sure they will remember having Christmas in the Magic. If you are a 'planner' and organized, it is sooo worth all the trouble.

We won't be at WDW for Christmas, but we will be there for the week just before. I purchased the Toy Story Christmas Tree from TDS and we plan on setting it up in the window at the Pop. I will add a string of lights to it too. I can't imagine being at WDW that close to Christmas without some sort of tree. Mickey

We shipped our box down UPS for Christmas with the table top tree, ornaments, and stockings. We used the 3M wall hooks to hang up our stockings and each day at the park we would buy a tricket for someone else's stocking until Christmas Day, when we opened them. I had also wrapped and put into the box a couple of presents for the kids to unwrap. We bought more ornaments while we were there and so our little tree was stocked! We even bought the Mickey Santa Ears ornament and used it as the tree topper.

We used some tinsel like garland that comes in a roll to string the mini Disney stockings (lots of different Disney characters) across the tops of the beds, strung lights around the balcony, and put window clings on the sliding doors.

We had packed a big duffel bag in the luggage to used to carry the stuff home on the plane, and it was no problem at all.

We loved our decorations and will be doing it again next (next) year!

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm gonna make a Mickey wreath and hang it in the window at ASMu. Going so close to christmas, I can't be without my decorations...LOL
