On our last trip we stayed at Pop and noticed a lot of people had decorated their room windows. I thought I'd make something for our October trip.

Please tell or show how you've decorated your windows. :earsboy:

I don't decorate my window, but I do decorate my door.

I use heavy cardstock paper and print something cute like:

"We're FINALLY at Walt Disney World"

"Don't forget to drink lots of water today"

"Our Florida Vacation"

"Hey dingbat, THIS is your room"

(Usually when I'm solo as I never remember which room is mine.)

I never use my name, our park schedule, or where I'm from, for safety reasons. Sometimes I'll add clipart or stickers to decorate it a bit.

Then I either laminate it or put it in those page protectors and tape up the end. Then, I attatch magnets to the back and stick them to the door when I get in. I also go to Home Depot and get the Mickey Head paint chips, attatch magnets and stick them to the door.

Can't wait to hear what others come up with.

We stayed at Caribbean Beach Dec 2003, We had a corner room. We decorated the windows for Christmas.
Here's a picture of our "Christmas tree". I am still trying to find a picture of the windows.

:earsboy: :earsboy: When my boys were little I use to put their stuffed animals at the window to greet them from a long day at the parks.

I guess I didnt take any of the windows. I used those window clings.

I like your magnet sign idea for the door!! All of us DIS'ers should put a lime green Mickey head on the door or in the window. How cool would that be to see another DIS'er as you're heading to your room. I think I'm going to put one on my door - if you see it - go ahead and knock!! I'd love to meet you!! (As long as it's not 6:00 a.m. or 11:00 p.m., that is!)

The maids don't mind if you put something on your door or in your window??

::MickeyMo We always decorate our window. We put our Towel Animals, DD's stuffed animals, souvies, etc. there. We come back to the room to find characters swinging in the drapes, etc. that Mousekeeping added. LOL :rotfl:

::MickeyMo My tip about decorating Resort rooms was included in this month's Passporter Newsletter!! LOL :cool1: So I am now enjoying my first ever Passporter book as a result! :flower: Rebecca

On one of my trips to the Assp, my window was decorated, but not by me - mousekeeping did it. They put a towel "swing" with a plush mickey (my plush - they didn't provide it!) along with towel animals using some Mickey pens and pencils I had purchased. It was great fun to come home to every day (and I was traveling on a solo trip)!

We have never done this before, but we enjoyed seeing the decorated windows in May at CSR that we will in the future. We're already making plans for our October trip. Of course, if we go at Christmas as we've been debating (not sure if we're up for the HUGE crowds), we will have to go all out! I've read of so many neat ideas for this on the boards. It sounds like fun.

I guess if they had to clean the window they might not be too happy about it. Or maybe they wouldn't mind because they wouldn't have to clean it then. :rotfl:

Vicki ~ I noticed the grape Fruit²O "under your Christmas tree". That is my absolute favorite thing to drink. Just bought a case of it at CVS today. :drinking1

We always take a small Christmas tree and wreaths for the doors. Last year we also took candle rings and electric candles for the windows. If I can figure out how to do it, I will post some pics :confused3

We've been there for Easter and I would put up little decorations. I used those window clingy things on mirrors(Disney of course!!) and hung stuff from plastic hooks, etc. I used things that would not damage walls or anything. My family enjoyed it and it is a fun thing to do!!

This is such a great idea!!! I think I will do the something like this on our next trip. DS always likes to go ahead of us when we get back to the resort, so he can be first in the room, must be a boy thing. LOL!!! But quite a few times he was standing in front of the wrong door. :rotfl: Thank goodness he didn't have a room key. I could just see his face if someone answered the door and asked him what he wanted. :rotfl2:

Something like that would have been nice to do on our first trip to Disney. We were celebrating DD's b-day and our 10 year anniversary. Defintaly will be doing this next time. :flower:

Are all the resort doors magnetic throughout WDW?

Specifically we will be at GF in main building.

That is a great idea! Maybe write your DIS user name on it also in case someone who isn't on the DIS might think of the samething. I would hate the idea of knocking on someone's door and saying "Hi, I saw your lime green Mickey head and thought I would say hi. I'm thelittlemermaid, what's your username?" And they are standing there looking at me like I'm  . LOL!!!!

There were alot of people at WDW that were wearing lime green, but I couldn't get up the nerve to go up to them. What if they just fealt like wearing lime green that day and it didn't have a meaning like it does to use DISner's.

I did that to someone on the Disney cruise. They didn't know what I was talking about. I felt dumb. :sad2:

I've seen this a lot on the Disney cruise. I've walked down hallways that had many doors with decorations on them. That is really thinking ahead! :earsboy:

I may bring some stuff with us in Jan. It will be our first trip to the world with our son. I think that would just make it extra special too him. I look forward to hearing everyones ideas!! :earsboy:

In December of 2003, we decorated our room at POP with some penguin window clings that we picked up at the Dollar Tree before we left home. It was cute and helped us to know when we had finally arrived at our room. I am not sure what we will do this year at CRS, but I know that we will do something festive for the holiday season.
