I'm new to DVC and wondering how others use the kitchens. Do you just use them for quick breakfast of cereal and pop tarts, full breakfast only, quick lunches, frozen type dinners, or full dinners, or all of the above. Just curious?

Yes, we have done both quick and full breakfast. We have a non-park day to relax, sleep in and enjoy the resort and this is usually where we have the full breakfast.

We haven't cooked dinner or lunch yet but we do snack :)

Thanks for the reply cobbler. I just added a poll to my post if you'd like to vote.

We have breakfast in the villa every day, usually something quick like cereal and fruit or maybe toast. We also cook a couple of times during our stay and have a night in with a DVD. Nothing fancy, just pasta with sauce or tortillas for example. We have also grabbed takeouts from Wolfgang Puck Express a couple of times.

We always spend a couple of weeks or so at WDW (to make the flights from the UK worthwhile), and find that we need a couple of relaxing nights in. Not having to worry about getting changed for dinner etc, just slobbing in front of the telly with some simple food and a glass of wine... Makes a nice change after a week of eating out all the time. :goodvibes

Quick breakfasts, some lunch meat for sandwiches by the pool when we don't go to the parks, or when we go to the water parks. That's it though. No cooking for me! Heck, I'm on vacation! Oh yeah, I only cook about one or two meals a week at home anyways!

Breakfast every day. Quick lunches half the days. Easy dinners half the days.

I can't stand eating out every meal. To much trouble, money, and time. And I definitely prefer the option to eat breakfast in my pj's over doing showers, hair and makeup first.

We do breakfast everyday because we like to ease into the day some. It varies from a quick - ceral, danish thing to at least 1 day w/ a full breakfast of bacon, pancakes, etc. We normally have one dinner in the room, the rest of the time we eat out. Also we keep lunch meat/snackie food in the apt since I'm nortorious for getting the munchies after everything is closed.

I've done everything but the 'quick dinner' option. If I want a hot dog, I'll get one at Casey's Corner. If I want pizza, I'll go to the takeout window at Spoodles or Wolfgang Puck at DTD. That said, we'll be in a studio this trip, so no full kitchen; we'll be eating out a LOT this trip! :earsboy:

I haven't voted because it wouldn't let me vote without putting any checks in the boxes. We don't use the kitchen AT ALL except to keep water/juice in the fridge.

We eat alot in the villa. We get to stay longer if we can cut at other places and food is one of them. We also don't worry about snacks or souvenier purchases in the parks. To be honest I don't mind cooking that much while I'm on vacation. They are simple meals anyways. I guess it's like the poll I just did about coming home with clean laundry. It just doesn't seem like such a burden when you're on vacation

I wish they had crockpots in the villas. That would be really nice!

Maybe 1 day we'll have eggs and turkey bacon. Most days are quick breakfasts. Maybe once during the trip we'll have a frozen pizza or something similar, but it's vacation and we like to eat out.

I know - I forgot to put in a "I don't cook at all" choice. Thanks for the input

We cook some of the time ( mostly breakfast and light lunches ) since eating breakfast in the room is much easier and quicker than going to a restaurant before hitting the parks. Not often though, maybe once or twice per trip.

Cereal in the mornings; nachos in the microwave and maybe some microwave popcorn. We've always wondered what those pots and pans were for!

We usually do "quick breakfast." I have ocasionally done a full breakfast, and when we invited friends they insisted on doing full dinners and also grilling.

I eggs or oatmeal, bagels and muffins for breakfast. We haven't done lunch or dinner, we tend to eat out for those.

Some people love to cook on vacation. I'm NOT one of 'em. We do a quick breakfast of coffee, cereal, maybe juice - unless we have a breakfast PS. Later we might reheat doggy bag stuff or fix microwave popcorn. That's about it.

jdvm - the pots and pans create a nice atmospheric effect. :teeth: You know they're there, but you don't have to touch them. Gotta love it!

The importance of COFFEE can not be underrated! We usually do cold cuts, cheese, etc. for snacking, one frozen lasagna or pizza meal, and minimal breakfasts when we're DVC. I usually book lunches for ADRs. We love the microwave for popcorn!
