Do you consider yourself Young, Old, Middle Age, Teen or ???

I just turned 39 last week and I consider myself "approaching" middle age. If the average life span is 87 (like recent studies say) than middle age would be 43.5, so I still have a couple of years until I am officially middle age.

But with that said, I really do not feel any different than I did when I was 29. I think the only difference is that I am a lot wiser than I was back then.

They say you're only as young as you feel so somedays I feel like I'm 80 and falling apart . And other days I'm 16 again.

I am also beginning to understand that saying "Youth is wasted on the young". If I knew then what I know now and had the confidence that I have now......whoo hoo...look out, that would've been something.

At 61 I am trying to hold on to middle age, but that middle point seems to be a moving target. I think I soon must give it up and say old, LOL.

Sometimes when I make a big purchase that I wasn't planning to make, like buying a car without really thinking it over, I'll walk out of there laughing. Thinking, "Ha! They just let me walk out of there with this car! Ha!" Then I'll get home & realize that it's because I'm a 33 yo responsible adult. Sometimes it takes a while to sink in that I really am getting older.

I'm not sure being "old" is bad. "Useless" is bad, "Worthless" is bad, but those words shouldn't be synonymous with "old".

I'm 44, so I guess middle aged...but I don't look or act like what I consider middle aged...and I DON'T want to be lumped in the "young" catagory...what to do ? By look or act...I'm a size 6, I keep up on all new books, trends, etc...so no, not trying to act like I'm 15, but am current...and still look cute in a two-piece swimsuit, though I wear something more discreet in public. Most of my friends are in the 50-70 range...am I just a weirdo ?
