Do You Buy For The Pricipal?

Not throwing flames, but I also disagree. Teachers do NOT "make the big bucks." My BIL (lives in the same town I do) has a Master's Degree and his starting pay at the company he works for was around $75K. That's standard in this area for a job that requires a Master degree. Do teachers make that much? Heck no, about half that. I don't think our principals make that much. JMO.

I guess I just must be super cheap!! lol, because I think $75k is a ton of $!!! Granted we live fairly simply...we don't clear $50k combined with me working part-time now- that may be TMI, but not complaining at all- I prefer to be home when the kids are home so we sacrifice in the $ department for that priviledge...we still have college funds and vacations every couple years...sometimes we dream about what we could do with $60 or $75k a year type money...lol!

My sister will make more her first year of teaching than my husband and I made after 5 years of marriage...but she has worked hard for her degree and I am proud that she will be able to take care of herself.

Our district was featured on abc news recently.....

Our superintendent retired and made $650K last year! I looked it up and it wasn't uncommon to see teachers with 100K salaries and pricipals at 150K. I don't give to principals, only teachers. I can see giving a small token gift and card, but I wouldn't give a gift card to them.

We got $5.00 Chick-fil-A coupons for ALL the specials teachers, $10.00 for main teachers and therapists, and a fruit and cheese platter for the office (receptionist, nurse, and principal). When I took it in, the principal's desk was OVERFLOWING with bags and packages. Ours was the only food.

OP here. I decided to bring a plate of goodies for everyone in the office (principal, secretary all the aides). Since posting the original question I applied for a job at that school with the principal makeing the final decision. I decided that would be a little odd so I brought something they could all share.
