Do You Bring Your Real Jewelry to Disney?

Add me to those who never thought NOT to bring them to Disney. I have always worn my wedding band, engagement ring and anniversary band to Disney. :) I also have my rings inspected and they are insured.

Now, when I go swimming at home, I just wear my wedding band. I don't want to snag swimsuits with my engagement ring as it is a princess cut diamond set fairly high.

I generally wear my wedding ring but I am considering not taking it this trip. My hands tend to swell a lot when at Disney and being that it will be so hot I think it might be worse. I would hate to have to take it off then worry about it.

I wear my engagement ring, wedding ring and my good watch, plus I wear a pair of green tourmaline earrings. This is my everyday look and Disneyland and the surrounding streets aren't a worry to me.

However, I avoid wearing my daily watch, engagement ring and earrings when my husband and I travel to the Caribbean. We go there often and though I wouldn't call the areas 'crime infested', there's enough going on to be sensibly cautious.

Many years ago my father bought a 1.75 k diamond for his young fiance at an estate sale. The daughter told Daddy that her mother never took the engagement ring off her finger. My Mom never took her ring off either.

Mom gave me the diamond when we were married 3 years ago. (I guess she REALLY didn't like my first husband!! :rotfl::rotfl:) I do take it off in the evening but never go outside without it.

It has been on just about every Disney ride I can think of. The diamond does stand up a bit in the setting - but I don't even think about it.

me personally.. I can not leave my rings at home.. without the fear of someone breaking in and stealing them.. I know strange.

I would rather wear them then leave them. I work in a hospital and still wear them here everyday... I have a large center stone, and pave set e-ring band and wedding band.. they are both insured. I just have to wear them!

just me...

I wear my rings except in the water parks--I have a unique hand carved diamond set with an intricate setting that the jeweler said too much chlorine could wear off over time. If I go to the regular pool, I just clean as soon as possible in the room.

But no matter what theme park we go to, I wear my diamond hoops that go with everything. (and have a really strong clasp) I just constantly check before and after big rides (roller coasters at Cedar Point and Uni, too). I've never had a problem.

I compare them to contacts--they're part of me.;)

i wear my everyday jewelry (which is also my "real" jewelry) to wdw just like i wear it everywhere i go at home... my other good stuff is stowed away 'cause i rarely have cause to wear it (lately)... i do take my watch and rings off at night and always loop my rings thru my watchband and then buckle the watchband back up... whether i am home or away, it's my habit and it works for me :)

I do the same thing with my watch and rings!

I always wear my real stuff. My rings fit well and have never fallen off. I have a diamond wedding band and an antique pearl and mine-cut diamond engagement. (The diamond represents the love in a marriage; the pearl represents the tears.) I've traveled with them all over the world without any problems. I also wear a solitaire diamond around my neck, but I never take it off, so I'm not likely to lose it unless the chain breaks. As PPs have said, it helps to make sure everything is insured.

Me too, I always wear my real stuff. My diamond wedding band and engagement ring, a very good watch, a solitaire diamond around my neck and diamond earings. I have traveled many Caribean Islands, around US, many Disney trips, and European vacations When I go swimming at the Caribeans, any beaches at home or swimming pool I wear my rings, necklace and watch. The only time I removed them is when I gave birth to my son I took it off b/c when I got in the hospital they requested to remove all jewerly. I did not wear my engagement ring for 6 months b/c the fear of hurting my son with the diamond. But I would do what you are comfortable with...I'm comfortable wearing my real and rings are blessed by the priest and its has been part of me since my wedding day.

I've never had a ring fall off a finger but bracelets jump off my wrists like you wouldn't believe. I never wear any bracelets at Disney.

Ok now your scaring me:scared1::scared1::scared1: I was planning to wear my pandora bracelet. :scared1::scared1:

I wear my wedding bands, but I don't wear my engagement ring. The setting is slightly high and I'm always scared of knocking it on something.

Real jewelry? What's that? :rotfl: Really I am kidding. I know what it is but I don't own any (other than my wedding band which never departs from my body). So, this makes for an easy answer to the dilemma posed, doesn't it?!

I wear my wedding ring and that's it. If we go to the pool or the water park or I just need to take it off (it's hot and my hands are puffy), then I'll put it in the safe.

My husband doesn't wear his ring though because he's in construction. Our friend up on the family ranch in Montana lost her finger because she wore a ring (a bit of a gruesome story but the bottom line is that you don't want your ring to catch on anything) and now I realize that the ring, while lovely and meaningful, is not the essence of our marriage so if we don't wear any rings, it doesn't mean anything :) So I don't feel I need to get a 'fake' set because I have no problems not wearing the ring at all.

Now I DO like to wear all those Mickey necklaces and earrings (not the 'real' stuff at all) I buy at Disney in the evening!

I wear my wedding set; though when I swim/am at the water park I put the engagement ring in the safe, same as my necklace and bracelet which I usually never take off -- those come off when in the pool/waterpark.

I never take my rings off so of course they go with me on vacation! I also wear my other every day real jewlery - a necklace and earrings without any worry. They are in no higher danger of going missing at home than on vacation. I don't usually pack additinal jewlery for vacation just my nice stuff I usually wear.

I've never thought about not wearing my wedding rings either. I normally have on my wedding/engagement rings, nice watch, and diamond stud earings. I do leave my diamond tennis bracelet at home b/c I worry it would catch on something and break.

Nope, but then again I almost never wear my good jewelry ;) At Disney, I wear diamond studs with screw-on backs which I never take off and one of my Mickey Mouse watches. I did take my good jewelry on a cruise, but I think I only wore a couple of pieces once or twice for dinner.

Yes I wear my engagement ring & wedding ring. I wear it every day, so I'm not afraid that it will get damaged or anything. I wear real earrings, a necklace & my watch - I wear it every day too & it wouldn't change in Disney.

I do wear my wedding/engagement ring but as others have said they are insured. I don't worry about them falling off because they won't get past my knuckles unless I pull on them:confused3 (it's not like I have man hands or anything). I'm a "plain Jane" so that is the only jewerly I ever wear, no watch, earrings, necklace.

That was my thought when I decided to bring my great aunt's platinum and diamond ring with me in May. I'm pretty sure I lost it on the Tomorrow Land Transit Authority.

Just a thought, but a DF lost her diamond engagement ring recently when her house was broken in to. If it had been on her finger she would still have it.
