Well I now have 3 different sizes I bought this summer. Thinking I may be wearing the smaller ones when I first get on the ship and needing the larger ones by the end!
Do you deliberately bring different sizes onboard ship?

No, I don't buy other sizes. I have "eating clothes" and other clothes. My "eating clothes" are lovely T shirt dresses and other things that either skim my tummy or have elastic waists. My husband brings pants with elastic on the sides after our first cruise--he gained 12 pounds during a 7 day land/sea trip. On the final morning he tried to get dressed in the clothes he had worn to travel down to FL in (all of his other clothes were properly packed and sent on their way at 11 PM the previous night) and found that his pants wouldn't close, by about four inches!!! What to do? Can't leave the ship naked, can't leave the ship in his unmentionables, so he wore his bathing suit, which was still in his day bag! Once we found our bags after we left the ship, he pulled a pair of jeans out and slid them on over his bathing suit.

On our second cruise, he tried his pants on the night before we left!

We all lost significant amounts of weight on our cruise due to the heat and the increased level of activity.

What??? For a week? No, I don't have that kind of money to buy different sizes that I'll never wear.

I think if I find that I unable to squeeze into something, I'll slow down the packing in of the food just a bit.

If, like Doc.P, I lose some weight, (pardon me, while I roar laughing a moment) ;), I will happily display my loose clothes on my slendering body.

Oh that felt good. Haven't laughed out loud since I put my kitty to sleep on Wednesday.

Thanks for the chuckle!

Spandex is my answer honey!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I dont get different sizes, but I definitly have regular clothes and fat clothes. I start all my trips off in the bikinis and the tight jean shorts, and by the end of the trip Im in the 1 pieces and stretch shorts with long tshirts. And I dont watch 1 thing that I eat or drink for the trip. Thats what vacation is all about for me. ;)

We were very surprised to lose weight on our trip. I can assure you that I did not consciously make any menu decision based on calories. The only health consideration was making sure I ate fruits and vegetables to keep my diet balanced.

Oh Doctor P, I hope you know I'm not laughing at you!

Just the thought of me losing weight on a cruise was just pretty hysterical.

I'm finding my emotions are wacked out these days and my sense of humor is off kilter to say the least.

You could always try the pregnancy trick, put an elastic hair tie through the botton hole in your pants and loop to the button, then leave the shirts out, not tucked in. ;) Or fifty sit-ups each day? :p But four inches, oh Beth!!! Make sure his underwear matches his pants! Might take a couple of hair elastics chained together.

But seriously, my semi-formal night dress was a wee bit tight to begin with, I couldn't eat much that night.

Had to buy new elastic waist shorts on our first trip to WDW because I was pregnant!

Heck NO don't bring bigger clothes, that will just give you an excuse to overeat! :p Better that your clothes that fit get a little tight so you slow down, that's a good reminder that cruising need not be synonymous with gaining weight. I hate losing weight more than anything and now that I'm at goal weight I absolutely refuse to gain weight on vacation (which I have done in the past). It's just not worth it to have to deal with the bummer of coming home AND trying to drop a few pounds. I eat what I want on vacation but just STOP when I'm full, and it works. :)

Since we knew we would have NO CHOICE but to over-eat at Dinner, we ate light for breakfast and/or lunch (In fact, usually we did sort of a "brunch" eating at Topsiders buffet around 10:30-ish and then just eating fruit and snacks during the day). This way we "evened out" our late-seating pig-outs and came back from the boat the same as before. I think that if you took away dessert, we'd actually be eating HEALTHIER on the cruise...more fruits, veggies and meats and less McD's! :)

Seriously I always end up losing weight on a cruise, we walk a great deal, I ALWAYS take the stairs and do four laps a day on deck four (it is a mile for four laps) and I eat anything I want.. The amount of calories I consume from alcohol surely surpasses those I get from food but asI said I always end up losing about five pounds on the trip.

I'm with you, Ann.... I have always lost or stayed the same weight on our cruises. I also walk or jog every morning on deck 4, and then I don't feel quite so guilty or bloated when I have that secod (or third - who's counting) helping of desert! ;)

Well I lost weight on the cruise because I didn't care much for the food (I'm a really picky eater). But I did regain it on the trip home!!!! :D

NO....I second the earlier thought on how much do you plan to eat while your away?????

to gain a lot of weight! especially if you are are in th middle of dieting... i went last year after losing 90 pounds (15 more to go that just won't go...). i think that your body reacts differently when you diet to all that food! but.. i ate what i wanted, took the stairs always... never even once set foot in an elevator, and drank lots of water. i was feeling a little squeeze by the end, i think i gained 8 pounds in all. i lost it pretty quick again. i d say aim to lose a few extra pounds if you can before you leave... then they'll still fit! good luck, and congrats on your weight loss!

But them it takes me forever to lose even one pound. I did make sure the semi formal dress was not the least bit tight before the trip.

Since Formal night is Monday, I figured I couldn't pick up too much weight in a few days.

Seriously, remember that you can taste everything but you don't have to finsih anything.

I had a balanced sensible breakfast and lunch and then ate what I wanted at dinner. Came back the same weight.

My DD (30) is the reason I won't gain too much weight. She is a size "0" and can eat all she wants*&#@$ :D I can't stand her!:teeth: Seriously, she will make sure I get exercize while there. Between her and my twin sons who are personal trainers PT, I get the business when I let myself go, because of health reasons, they worry about my weight. I guess I will be tasting instead of gorging:( I wanna gorge, I wanna gorge:bounce:
I need to take off about 20 pounds within the next 3 weeks! Think I can do it??? In my dreams...only in my dreams:D
Oh well, we can't all be thin.
