This is our first trip to WDW. My husband and I will be travelling with our two girls (age 7 & 4). Wondering if I should be bringing a backpack into the parks or just a fanny pack each for my husband and myself. What do you do?
Thanks for your recommendations
Nancy

Well, I do both! I have a fannypack for my room key, money, passes, sunglasses, chapstick etc...

Then we have a backpack for the sunscreen, any snacks or drinks we may bring in, cameras, film, batteries, wet wipes, autograph books, sometimes change of clothes (when my kids were younger) or sweatshirts in the colder months etc...the backpack is for the bigger stuff.

So we have one backpack and one fannypack. I wear the fannypack all the time and the backpack can be left behind once in awhile if we're just heading out for a short time.

Enjoy your first trip and all the planning!

I carry a mini backpack so my hands are free to push the strollers, but I didn't want anything to heavy. I also use the basket on ds's stroller to put things in.

I use both. I wear a fanny pack that has money, room key, cell phone etc. That comes with me everywhere. The backpack stays on the stroller. It has water, snacks, sun screen. I do not take the backpack on the rides. No one has ever fooled with it. ::MinnieMo

I carry both too. I wear the fanny pack, with money, keys, camera, ect. And i strap the fanny pack on the back of the stroller, so i dont have to carry it. I put wipe's, snacks, water, sunscreen, poncho, ect inside.

LOL, we have 3 fannys and a backpack! One for each DD with snacks and their disposable cameras and their autograph shirts, one for me with the "do not lose" items and the backpack for DH who gets the water, sunscreen, digital camera, ponchos, etc!

I would just take a backpack. We took one with several zippered compartments and it did just fine. I wouldn't advise both, you just end up feeling like a pack mule after a while! ;)

To each their own. I do not feel right having my money, CC, passes, room key, and my own personal items in the backpack. I prefer having that stuff close to me, in my fannypack.

The backpack is for the big stuff and DH and I take turn taking care of it. Sometimes we can even just leave it behind when we're just going out for the evening or running to DTD. I ALWAYS have my fannypack though.

We had both and it worked wonderfully. I wore the fannypack all the time. I kept money, resort keys, photopasses, chapstick, sunglasses, cell phone, park map and my camera in it.

The backpack had heavier items...dd pin lanyard, her autograph book, a few bottles of frozen water, suntan lotion, snacks, etc. Dh & I took turns with it because it could get quite heavy. It really helped too when I put it over both shoulders instead of slinging it over one shoulder.

We usually like to use a fanny pack(everyone carries their own) but hubby wants to try a backpack this year.

We do both x2.

I have my fanny pack with car keys, room keys, money, id, cc's. My packpack has my digital camera, an umbrella and the ponchos.

DH's fanny pack has his meds, his regular/sunglasses, his id. his backpack has an umbrella, the video camera and this year will have lots of snack.

DS has his own fanny pack which has his autgraph book and pen and usually any pressed pennies that he gets that day.

less than 2 dyas til we go.......

We have no children but we both carry a fanny pack and we bring a back pack only if we need one. I hurt my foot before we left for our trip and to complicates things even more. I got blisters the first day we were there so I kept all the first aide stuff in the back pack and rented a locker. We could carry most other stuff in our fanny packs, chapstick, camera, money, room keys etc. etc.
