Do you bother unpacking everything when you go on vacation?

Our WDW trips are anywhere from 8-12 days in length. I have to unpack or I would go nuts.

When we stay in a condo in Florida, we unpack. It's nice to not dig through a duffle bag (our suitcases are too big to fly). We volunteer at a summer camp 2 weeks each year and there are no drawers, so we must live out of suitcases. It bothers DH enough that he starts eyeing the Sterilite drawer sets at Walmart 2 weeks before we leave. He hasn't bought any yet, but eventually I think I'll be storing those suckers for 50 weeks a year. I pack in outfits for camp, which makes it easier to get things, until you get something on a shirt and need only a shirt...then you disassemble an outfit for the shirt and your system is all messed up! When we travel with our pop up camper, we also live in suitcases, but have an extra bunk on which to store them and spread out.

First thing I do in hotel room -- everything, including inside of drawers, gets a once over with clorox wipes.

If I am traveling alone (on business) -- no I don't unpack.

If we are on vacation, yes, I unpack. DH and DS are pigs and I hate them rummaging through suitcases.

We put dirties in the empty suitcases as well.

I'm a huge clorox wipes fan. I can't believe I didn't think of this. Next time I'll pack the wipes:thumbsup2

Never. I hate packing and just going through the stuff is easier for me. Also especially when we go to Vegas if we get on a losing streak we can change our plans on a dime and check out way earlier then we thought.

Me too! I wipe everything down, then unpack. I just hate living out of a suitcase. I like to settle in and feel like I'm home!

I clean, unpack, decorate, put out a few candles and I'm good to go.

I never unpack on vacation unless it is Disney. I don't know why but for some reason I feel comfortable unpacking there and not anywhere else. Maybe I just keep hoping if I make myself at home I can stay there permanently. ;)

No way, I live out of the suitcase and unpack everything the minute I get home.
DH is the opposite. He immediately puts stuff in hotel drawers and closets then takes forever to unpack when we get home.

I unpack, but use the closet, the drawers in the armoire. That's it. I don't put stuff in every nook and cranny of the room. All our toiletries stay in the toiletry kit on the bathroom sink. I have a power squid that I put out and all electronics (phone, PDA, GPS) get plugged into it, so they are in one place.

I repack as I wear clothes. When I take them off, if they are dirty and not able to be worn again, they go into the suitcase, so that all I have to do on departure day is collect the tolietries, electronics etc.

Anything more than a weekend requires a full unpacking:rotfl2:

I do, however, leave certain things in the suitcase: flashlight, extra pocketbooks, magazines for the plane ride, rain ponchos, etc. -- things that I don't need until I need them IYKWIM:thumbsup2

We unpack everything when we arrive, and then put the suitcase open on the floor of the closet or under the bathroom sink for the dirties. As each dirty piece is taken off, back in the suitcase it goes (folded!) That way we are packed to go home with very little effort.
This is exactly what I do.

If you live out of a suitcase, where do you put your dirty clothes? Do you use the drawers for those, a corner of the room, or do you comingle dirty items with the clean ones in your suitcase?

I also keep boxes of the individual wet one packets in my purse. You just never know when you may need these things.

I also learned to keep a bottle of lysol or air freshner in my car. 4 people, in hotel room, after DH has eaten a big meal. Air freshner comes in handy!

I unpack unless it's less than three nights.

I unpack when I'm on holiday. Why is it though that when it comes to re-packing the suitcase the contents of it always seems to double in size? :lmao:

No, I don't. My daughter does though.

If we're just staying overnight (enroute to our final destination) I only unpack what I'm going to wear for the next day, and DH's clothes for the next day too. I keep bathroom stuff in a separate bag so usually put those out on the counter even if it's only overnight.

Once we reach our destination I like to unpack everything, and hang things up to minimize wrinkles.

I unpack but I use the hotel's plastic laundry bags for dirty things and try to wash at some point during the trip. I dislike the idea of dirty clothes in my luggage for some reason.

I unpack as soon as we get to the room and even carry extra hangers on any trip that's more than 2 nights. The only things I leave in my bag are the items I pack, but hope I won't need, like medicines, bandaids, etc.

I don't put dirty clothes in my suitcase, we either stuff them in the drawers or if the room has a closet we stick them in the closet then I wash the night before we go home so I can pack the clean clothes in my suitcase to take them home- I don't like packing dirty things in my suitcase to take home.

Sometimes I unpack, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I unpack certain things and leave the rest in the suitcase. Depends on my mood, and how much space everyone else's things take up in the dresser drawers.
